  1. Yes. It doesn't sound too bad if they debated about doing the IL stint. Better to be over cautious this early in the season.
  2. I don't think they are afraid to make moves. It's fitting whatever moves they make under the CBT and to field a well rounded team. I agree they should have improved the rotation. But its not afraid to sign Rodon with his injury history, it's a cascaded decision based on the amount of money to pay him and the possibility of injury
  3. That would be an odd one. The transverse abdominus is more of a slow twitch postural muscle as its fibers go straight side to side Injuries typically happen to the internal or external oblique that are more the fast twitch power muscle for flexion and rotation.
  4. That's the way it's been lately.
  5. More for the season ending type not the miss a few start type.
  6. All reports I read said abdominals not hip.
  7. That is true is any weather. It's not a natural motion.
  8. And football is different how? Cross country races for 8 miles in November isn't? All athletes deal with cold, baseball is one if the least physically stressful.
  9. To be clear. I'm not saying that caused the injuries to any of the Sox players, I was answering what COVID body can look like even in highly trained athletes.
  10. That all affects the training, endurance and healing physiology.
  11. As long as you maintain flexibility it's fine. Problem is the wound tight type of guy.
  12. If someone has had COVID especially high level athletes the respiratory system and cardiac system can be affected for a long time. They are finding cardiac issues in collegiate runner a year after. These aren't endurance athletes but no telling some issues with people who train this hard and push their bodies. Wasn't there stories about Giolito training so hard to gain muscle mass?
  13. The injuries are due to the short Spring training. I was referring to the moves or lack thereof.
  14. Could mean a lengthy absence. If they just held him back it a better sign than if he threw a pitch and had to stop. Sounds like its a fairly mild one but no telling for sure. Even a mild one is probably missing a start.
  15. Eww. Abdominal don't get tight. They get strained. Hopefully minor.
  16. Dang, I knew pitching injuries and limitations would be an issue with the shortened spring training but this is getting ridiculous.
  17. Abdominal pain? As in appendicitis or oblique strain?
  18. I didn't see the game, what happened?
  19. Strip clubs, red light district.
  20. Definitely worth the road trip.
  21. Was just in San Antonio for a conference. Good time. I like the city.
  22. Wouldn't have been opening day anyway with TA suspended.
  23. No game today so the game thread had to go somewhere.
