  1. Bit I thought players shouldn't run down the line on meaningless groundballs because they could hurt themselves. (Not directed at you specifically)
  2. It was to finish the game I think. I dont remember how long. Crede got tossed because he got hit by a pitch but the ump wouldn't give him first base because he said crede didn't try hard enough to get out of the way. Everyone proceeded to get ejected for yelling at the ump and the Sox didn't have many infielders left.
  3. Few will get that unless they are playing near the line.
  4. Didn't he do it in a game last year? Or was he just practicing there?
  5. He seems to be injured as well with as little as he has been playing. I think it was a back issue. But I do agree his defense there is the better choice
  6. So you prefer to keep Garcia there and in the lineup?
  7. Oh, lord. I understand sacrificing defense for offense, especially with the slump this team has been in, but........
  8. Good to see him throwing in the bullpen. It means he is re-starting "spring training "
  9. How about when they had Carlton Fisk in LF and John Cangelosi in CF?

I didn't mention Kopech as those are valid concerns. You stated Giolito and Cease are pre-injured in your post. Valid concerns for a 35 year old pitcher. However, with a good injury history would not be asmuch of a worry as someone with Rodon's injury history. Again I can't see how you have these concerns but insist Rodon would be good to add to the mix.
  11. Playoffs do because of the intensity. Spring training not really. But if you want to count his spring training innings this this year and add those to his innings pitched this year. He had about 135 including the playoffs last year. You can use 150 but the people taking care of his health or lack thereof will not.
  12. Good point. He used to play pitchers in RF, mostly Todd Worrell if memory serves correctly, when he wanted to bring a lefty in to face one batter and wanted him to face the next hitter.

Your concerned about the health of Giolito, Cease and Lynn but you insist they should have retained Rodon?

How about giving him more time than 10% of the season before we declare anything?
  15. I did that when my daughter was an infant because it was the only way to get her to fall asleep. ?
  16. No they don't as no one uses that in workload calculations. If you want to go include all of that every pitcher throws close to 200 innings with warm-ups, between innings and side sessions. It's all relative to previous workloads which is tracked by pitches or innings.
  17. When did he pitch 150 innings? He had around 135 last year and needed time off to do it.
  18. Vaughn ended last year with back issues due to the long season he wasn't used to. You are still going to see a fair number of days off for him.
  19. I thought you were trying to be less negative.
  20. I agree they should have brought someone else in. However it would have needed to been someone they could count on for the season lime Manea.
