  1. I don't think the Sox almost had either of them. The posters here wanted that but I don't think that was ever truly reported that they were close on a deal for either of those.
  2. In another thread someone posted they had to do a cortisone injection. That is typically a internal joint issue not just a contusion.
  3. I wouldn't go that far yet. They need to see how it responds to the injection. It be could just another week.
  4. He will not be as good of a hitter. However his defense does elevate him relatively.
  5. It seems TLR likes to put the struggling players the spot before Abreu. He did it early with Robert when he was struggling.
  6. I said when they signed him he was just going to be a part time player as his bonuses started at 400 plate appearances.
  7. I don't think people realize how QBs are evaluated by coa he's and scouts. Ot isn't just the numbers they put up. They look at factors like, decision making, did he throw to right target, did he put the ball where it was supposed to go. None of these factors have anything to do with the catches the receiver makes. There will be a lot of information on which to base their decision about Feilds upon. Plenty of which have nothing to do with how talented the receiver is. That is another factor of course but it isn't the only or even the primary factor.
  8. Woah. Do you mean to tell me that decisions are made by multiple people, not just one? If it doesn't work we can't just blame a single person that's makes decisions without input from others? /sarcasm rant (not targeted at this poster)
  9. Yes, it's derby party day. I will only watch updates today.
  10. That makes more sense.
  11. Will it really convince you if we told you yes. Will it slow the negativity or would you tell us we are wrong.
  12. He is third on the team with 2 wins. Cease and Lopez have 3 wins each.
  13. Could say the same for hendriks before the last 2 appearances.
  14. Yep. The only tendons that they use cortisone on in the wrist are the ones near the thumb that have a synovial sheath because they inject the sheath not really the tendon.
  15. Yeah. Wrist issues can linger for hitters.
  16. NFL rosters are much bigger so that percentage is spread out over more players. I think someone mentioned the MLB players were getting about 47% of revenue.
  17. That's in the middle. Certain wrist surgeries can be long rehabs. Bit those aren't very likely.
  18. Don't want to go there. Worst case scenario is one of a multitude of surgeries and the season is over. Most likely though is 2-4 weeks for the more common issues.
  19. Yep. It's not a good sign that's for sure.
  20. Do you payroll for the employees on the field only? What about the staff throughout the rest of the organization? The MLB players are about what 20-25% of the employees?
  21. All sports still do it.
  22. They do it for massive inflammation in one of the areas. It's a strong anti-inflammatory not a pain killer. They are trying to decrease inflammation in an area not in the skin or superficial tissues like a contusion would be. Its not necessarily structural damage. Could be just internal joint inflammation which lasts longer. I had to guess its in one of the wrist joints. That's the most common place for cortisone injections although not exclusively. Could be a longer lasting issue.
  23. I think that more about the networks paying the cost for the extra games because there are only 17 of them. Would they pay the extra cost if there were 162?
  24. Uh oh. Now you are talking joint or tensynovitis issues not a contusion or bone bruise.
