The whole team isn't very good and they know it. They are not planning on being very good this year.
Next year they will have a high 1st round pick for the WR and a ton of cap space. Worrying about what they did or didn't do for this year really isn't worth the time.
I must apologize to everyone. I'm the one one who kept insisting that the lineup was fine and they needed to concentrate on acquiring pitching.
I've put history's largest jinx on this lineup. These are not bad hitters but I have made them so.
I must go sacrifice a live chicken.
There is no way they finish 3rd. There aren't 2 teams better than them.
They are currently 3rd and have 8 on the IL and have played as absolutely as bad as they possibly can.
Now with this dead baseball the hitter are going to need to change their power first mentality at least for awhile. But they won't play this poorly all year.
It was to finish the game I think. I dont remember how long. Crede got tossed because he got hit by a pitch but the ump wouldn't give him first base because he said crede didn't try hard enough to get out of the way. Everyone proceeded to get ejected for yelling at the ump and the Sox didn't have many infielders left.
He seems to be injured as well with as little as he has been playing. I think it was a back issue. But I do agree his defense there is the better choice
I didn't mention Kopech as those are valid concerns.
You stated Giolito and Cease are pre-injured in your post.
Valid concerns for a 35 year old pitcher. However, with a good injury history would not be asmuch of a worry as someone with Rodon's injury history.
Again I can't see how you have these concerns but insist Rodon would be good to add to the mix.
Playoffs do because of the intensity. Spring training not really. But if you want to count his spring training innings this this year and add those to his innings pitched this year.
He had about 135 including the playoffs last year.
You can use 150 but the people taking care of his health or lack thereof will not.
Good point. He used to play pitchers in RF, mostly Todd Worrell if memory serves correctly, when he wanted to bring a lefty in to face one batter and wanted him to face the next hitter.
