  1. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) I would say we need to thank the baseball gods, but the truth is they owe us for the last 88 years. ain't that the truth.
  2. Two bases-loaded walks?!!? What kind of crazy luck do we have? I hope it lasts all season.
  3. HA!! GameCast has Ozuna at Catcher & Burke at 1st.
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) Uribe walks tied 1-1. YES!!!
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) Rowand with the sacrafice moves ozuna into second. good smartball.
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) It looks like it but our offense always seems to come up with a way to come up with big runs when it looks like they're dead. Geez - if this ends like this, Jose will be 0-1 with a 2-something ERA. Amazing.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:24 AM) I agree, that guy is murder on the Sox... He might be one of the few big bats to be on the trade market at the deadline, I heard he wants to play for the Dodgers, but I bet KC can get a lot for him if his back is healthy. He would be a HUGE pick-up for whoever can get him. DePodesta is an idiot - but he would be a good fit in LA. What about NY - do they have anyone to offer?
  8. Contreras is the one guy in our rotation who needs run support - and we have not been able to provide it. 5 no-decisions?
  9. Talk about Buehrle speed. this game is an hour old and it's already half over.
  10. Jose looks like he's pitching well - at least on Gamecast. Does he look as good as it reads?
  11. Look at this - from the Trib: "The Sox entered the game against the Kansas City Royals hitting .256 and a league-worst .219 with runners in scoring position. The Sox ranked second in the majors last season with a .291 average with runners in scoring position, trailing only World Series champ Boston." Wow. But then again, what does Hawk say? It's not what you hit, it's when you hit 'em.
  12. awesome stuff - but that's funny what Ozzie said about Oct 1. The playoffs don't start until Oct 4th at the earliest.
  13. QUOTE(Benson&Rexage @ May 4, 2005 -> 06:08 AM) I hate reggie miller and the colts Go bears go sox Get well Hawk Detached Renta NO Eye surgery Mercy!! Reggie Miller, Kerry Wood, Peyton Manning= chicks with dicks And don't insult women like that - comparing them to those guys!!! Mercy!
  14. QUOTE(shakes @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) Anybody know what channel that is on DirecTV? wherever the feed from extra innings is from.
  15. you should email your rant to espn.
  16. They should broadcast all the games in Spanish. Chicago has what - the 2nd highest Spanish-speaking population behind LA? Definitely an untapped market.
  17. QUOTE(agame @ May 2, 2005 -> 08:47 AM) I find it very frustrating that everyone focuses on our losing our power hitters but rarely do people point out why. We looked for value on offense and focused on pitching. Obviously our pitching is better, and a big reason for that is that we invested money that was saved from the power hitters into pitching. As much as small/smart ball is talked about I think the main focus of the offseason was pitching, adding El Duque, Hermanson, and Vizcaino along with the acquisitions of Freddy and Contreras last year. This is a good point - and the one that I've been waiting for most writers to get. We didn't have the money to keep Lee and focus on pitching (signing Garcia, Hernandez, Vizcaino, Hermanson.) As a result of losing Lee - we have a more balanced team - with the signings of Pierzynski & Iguchi. Would we be better with a healthy happy Maggs, Frank, & Carlos, along with our new pitching staff - I think so, but that's not reality. Besides, we're a better TEAM now.
  18. QUOTE(longshot7 @ May 1, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) You got me. I switched the channel after I heard Colon was out of the game - saw Shields walk Mauer. Frankie gets the DP. Still 2-0 Angels.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ May 1, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) K-Rod is coming in for the Angels now. I had missed the Lopez AB, yahoo says it was a deep fly to center. How close to the track was it? Thanks. You got me. I switched the channel after I heard Colon was out of the game - saw Shields walk Mauer.
  20. QUOTE(longshot7 @ May 1, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) Colon dealing. Minus 1 outing in NY, he has been awesome so far this year. Scot Shields letting the Twinks load the bases. Frankie Rodriguez coming in. Go Halos!!!
