QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ May 27, 2005 -> 04:26 AM) Only steers and queers come from Texas...and the Rangers don't look like no Steers to me! Not funny. My gay friends would be very offended that you compared them to the Rangers. Ick. -
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) 2 words -- fat and overrated. Give me Buehrle anyday. 4.08 career ERA. especially with that rediculous off-centre cap. That drives me nuts. he looks like a circus clown!

He mentioned in his speech how much he enjoyed his time as a White Sox - said if the 83 series had been 7 games, they would have won it,

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 23, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) This is a battle of the fastest pitcher in the majors against what I would deem the slowest pitcher in the majors (Contreras is right there with Colon though). If its any consolation one of my friends thats going to tomorrows game has a hex on Colon. He's seen him pitch 9 times and he's pitched awfully in every game but one. Whenever he goes to the Angles games, they lose...so I told him he was definately going when the Sox were in town Bart's gotten a lot better about speed lately. I saw him opening day, and you're right - we were falling asleep inbetween pitches - but then I saw him two weeks ago and he was way faster. Not Buehrle speed of course, but better. Bart works faster when he's pitching well too - so maybe I should prefer for him to be slower. I went last nite and what can you say - Santana was dealing. Sometimes it happens. -
QUOTE(Fotop @ May 23, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Santana is a rookie, yes, but he's highly touted. If I recall he is/was the #3 prospect in the deep Angels farm system. Supposedly has really good stuff, yet already has a good amount of injury history. In his first start in the majors he got shelled by the indians, who are struggling this year on offense. With that said we should be able to score some runs tonight, we just need to be patient. Make him throw strikes, see if he makes mistakes, etc. Don't go up there swinging at everything. Either way, I expect Garland to stick to his current form against an anemic looking offense without Vlad. Erstad was their three hole hitter last night, Quinlan their 5th, ick. So let's get Garland his ninth win tonight! That's true, but he got destroyed by the Indians last week. Bud Black & Mike Scoiscia will give him a good game plan - but whether or not he follows it is anyone's guess. BTW, the Angels are 10-9 at home. Not good for them...

I love Ozzie. Look at this quote: "The guy's just trying to win," Lee said. "He's doing whatever it takes. I think Ozzie will tell him that's not the right way to do it." Guillen, however, had a different message. "That's the (bleeping) way we play," Guillen said. "That's the big leagues. That's White Sox baseball." White Sox baseball indeed. This seems to fit under "Win or die trying." http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/ds.../pro/231sd4.htm

I'm really looking forward to the game - I'm going to tonight thru Wed - and it will be my first look at Garland. Haven't seen that much of the Rally Monkey this year, now that I think of it. We'll make him eat s*** too!!!

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 21, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) AJ behind the plate again, no walks. There is no way you can convince me that his resurgence is not directly due to the Sox signing one AJ Pierzynski. I totally agree. AJ rules. He's showing all those pre-season haters.

My power went out when Konerko had the 3-2 count and Pods on third. I nearly had a heart attack. It was out for 40 minutes too - thank God I tuned in for the last out. We rule!!!

I can't believe we don't have a hit. This sucks. -
I'd like to vote for McCarthy starting on Sunday and Garland on Monday - mostly because I'm going to the Angels games and I wanna see him pitch. Yeah, I'm selfish like that.

QUOTE(Y2HH @ May 19, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) Has anyone told you that you look *exactly* like that homo on the Twins? :finger :finger :finger :puke Hey, watch your language. My gay friends would be offended - comparing them with the Twins, now that's an insult. -
Does anyone remember that song about William Perry that B96 used to play during the 85 season? It went something like , "They call in the Fridge - when they're on the goal line - they call in the Fridge - and it's six points every time!" I have the Super Bowl Shuffle on mp3 - I'm trying to complete the 85 Bears novelty song collection. Let me know if you want a copy.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 18, 2005 -> 07:56 AM) Hermie is just fine, thank you very much. Guardado wouldn't close - he'd setup or something. However, I prefer Villone.

Not easy shutting out that Texas lineup. Great job Mark!!!

QUOTE(Steff @ May 18, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) He (Colon) is gonna face Jon next Monday, isn't he...??? It looks like it - unless Scoiscia decides to give Bart one more game off, considering he pitched today on 3 days rest. Angels matchups Mon - Garland v Colon Tues - Buehrle v Angels 5th starter Wed - Garcia v Washburn Thurs - Contreras v Lackey Playnig on the road is tough, esp on the West Coast, but we have a great chance to win 3 if not all 4, considering how bad the Angels the playing right now. I'll be at the first 3 games. -

btw - for those interested- Jake Westbrook lost AGAIN - when the Angels scored two in the top of the 9th to win the game in Cleveland. Talk about a hard-luck loser - if he was matching up against team's #2 or 3 pitchers, he might be 5-1. Bartolo outdueled him. -

QUOTE(White Sox @ May 14, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) If parking wasn't 17 dollars, I would go. 17 bucks? that's as bad as Wrigley used to be. It's $5 at Angel Stadium.
