  1. Flash has been horrid so far. He might be done. And Karsay, wasn't he recently designated for assignment?
  2. We are lucky Dye didn't get hurt when he slipped. He almost did the splits. That was scary.
  3. Shingo for Lee ... in a heartbeat. Shingo and PK for Lee ... probably not, at this point in time. Shingo and PK for Lee and Hawkins .... I'd pull the trigger on this * Marte for Hawkins .... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA * Hawkins may be a surly SOB, but I'd still do this trade. I like Lee's game and PK has a whole s***load of ????? right now. Will he break out of it, of will this be 2003 reduex? Can we, and do we want to resign him? Will his hip take a turn for the worse. As far as Hawkins, getting him out of Cubby blue and back in the AL where he has excelled before may be just what he needs. Having AJ around as his catcher is also a plus. Again, more familiarity. Hermanson as closer, with Hawkins and Marte as setup sounds pretty damn good to me.
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) Until the playoffs, when they trip over each other trying to be the first one to say that "pitching and defense wins championships". Very good point.
  5. QUOTE(Pale Hose Jon @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) Well i guess you have to sleep with the teacher to get an A "Hot for Teacher"
  6. The Cardinals pulled a triple play against the Padres last night ... and, get this, Mike Shannon CALLED IT.
  7. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) Perhaps. Here's a pic from my personal collection. There's a definite similariry.
  8. I have trouble remember these horses names, but ... Afleet Alex to WIN Bellamy Road to PLACE Bandini to SHOW
  9. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) He'll run the show next year. He knows it. He'll be back. It just dawned on me. In your sig ... Doesn't AJ look like a young Bill Murray?
  10. You guys don't get me wrong here. I love what AJ brings to this team. All I'm saying is that there is no rush and it wouldn't hurt to make sure the SF type problems don't resurface.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) I just see a 19 year old, maybe he is 20 now down at low a can possibly be scraping the top of the system in 2 years. I see him at least at W-S by the end of the year. That's a stretch. And even if one of these kids can make the team in 2 years, are they going to be the starter? Highly unlikely.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) YASNY, you going to be here (Dallas) Memorial Day? As of right now, I'm planning on attending the Sunday May 29th game.
  13. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) Something about, one guy, 30,000 posts, I dunno, I wasn't really listening. Oh. Well, that explains why it hasn't been mentioned here.
  14. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) I found out about this site from the post game show. Cool Site. Lifelong Sox Fan so Welcome to Soxtalk. What did the postgame show have to say about Soxtalk?
  15. Actually, I'm hoping to see Maddux. Nothing wrong with watching a future HOFer in action.
  16. And you call yourself a Sox fan.
  17. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ May 6, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) According to the rotation cycle it will be: Wrigley Field Garcia 5/20 Contreras 5/21 El-duque 5/22 US Cellular Field Contreras 6/24 El-duque 6/25 Garland 6/26 Unless Ozzie decides to switch it up a bit to kill the Cubs? I don't think its nessecary as those guys are capable of dominating them. Of course, the Cubs rotation is incalculable at this point.
  18. If I remember correctly, Tony G can play catcher in an emergency situation. I don't know exactly where that thought came from, but hasn't it happened somewhere along the line?
  19. I love it when a plan comes together!!!! Small ball? Offensively, it's lacking. But the "experts" rarely consider the pitching and defense.
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Thought you may want to see this; Yes. I was aware of that. So far, so good.
  21. I'll be at the Friday and Sunday games at the Cell! A special thanks to my "contact".
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) His effect on the pitching staff alone is worth it to me. No complaints there from me. But let's just make sure it's the real AJ. We can sign him in August.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:45 AM) Kenny-Get it Done. something along the lines of 3 years $13 million plus and team option for a 4th year would look good to me 06-$3.5 07-$4 08-$4.5 09-$5 with $1 buyout. No rush on getting this done. There's plenty of time for that. AJ's still "motivated" to prove himself. Let's run with that for a while.
  24. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Another good one is that we just have to go a little of .500 the rest of the way to win 90 games, very, very achieveable. Although I don't trust Dayn Perry's judgement very much at all. I have 94 wins as the number in mind that it will take to get it done. We still have some work to do.
  25. Thank for the detailed analysis.
