kruk called us out.
QUOTE(SHAFTR @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:08 AM) Hello, I'm new. Anyways, Kruk has a .400 OBP that year, so he was far from terrible. With regards to the empty seats, I've always been disappointed by the White Sox attendance. Perhaps I'm just spoiled because I go to school in Madison, WI (great sports town) and Camp Randall and the Kohl Center are always sold out. I just think that a team in a market as large as Chicago that has the best record in baseball would be selling more tickets. I guess the entire AL Central is pretty sad with attendance. The best attendance goes to the team with the worst ballpark (minnesota). I graduate from UW-Madison in 2 weeks, after that I plan on coming down a couple weekends for some games. Welcome to Soxtalk, SHAFTR!

SNR On the Air Tonight @ 6:30 CT
QUOTE(The Critic @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:20 AM) Sorry, Capn....I did a very small amount of Macho or Stoney last night. With the technical problems, it was difficult to know when we were on or not. Plus, Maury was stomping around looking for someone to kill! We're looking at next Tuesday for the next broadcast, and I'll absolutely bring the puppets along for the ride that time.....UP IN HERE, UP IN HERE.... by the way.............SnR is 4-0 so far!!!! Could the "SnR Jinx" FINALLY be dead???? That was so "last year."

Ah. I get it. The pollsters didn't care for the results of that earlier conservative gain, so they are doing something about it.

Could Paula be next off of Idol?
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 3, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) I'll admit I don't watch the show, never have, don't care at all. But shes a grown woman, who cares who she decides to "get with" Consider she's a judge, and these are contestants, there is a question of integrity ... WAIT! What am I saying? :headshake

If the NBA bans JVG, I see a major lawsuit coming up. One that will, if it gets to trial, bring out some dirty s*** the NBA does not want to see get exposed.

Cubs Nation
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 3, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Are they that dumb? They don't come when they take the series against us last year or when we collapse miserably, yet they show up when we have the best record in MLB. Someone explain. Hence the phrase, "Stupid Cub fan."

SI: Buehrle #2 young pitcher in baseball
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 4, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) I believe that Peavy is one fot he two best pitchers in the game with Johna being ht eother. You can't argue against Myers unless you argue against Garland. Both were beneath their potential until great starts this year Peavy and Santana. That's hard to disagree with. So I won't try.

Hawk to the DL
QUOTE(DABearSoX @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:01 AM) Just remebering Steve Stone's Mock of Hawk last year ("HE GONE") pisses me off......if he replaced him for the few days thats when I turn on mute and turn up the radio..... GET WELL SOON HAWK! Who was paying Stone's salary last year? Did it piss you off when Valentin mocked Sosa in the dugout?

Impressed by Iguchi?
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 3, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Iguchi's doing the job as a number two hitter. He'll pick his spots and put a few in the bleachers. Welcome to Soxtalk. He picked a good spot, tonight!

Impressed by Iguchi?
QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ May 3, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) We as Sox fans can take pride in Iguchi. Several people outside of our Pale Hose Nation thought we were kool-aid drinkers about the way we talked about Iguchi in the off-season. Who's drinking the kool-aid now? We knew he could hit 290-290. We are pleasantly surprised that he's hitting .333. Everett & Pods deserve some credit as well providing him protection so that he's sure to see good pitches across the plate. Don't worry about the HR's. They will come. Just wait until the warm weather arrives. Now if only Dye could start approaching his career avg we might run away from the rest. We may have been Kool-Aid drinkers, but we knew what type of player this team needed and based upon what we were hearing about Iguchi as opposed to what other players were deemed to be available, Iguchi was the best option out there. Maybe arguments could be made for Polonco, but as Sox fans, we were happy to get a guy that filled our needs.

Jon Garland
QUOTE(kwill @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) I hope he has an amazing year. So we can get good value for his ass in a trade and kick him in the ass and give him the finger ont he way out :finger I am glad that the man is having a great this season, but his ass is not worth 6 million dollars. We could get great value for him if he has a 15 win season. :headshake

kruk called us out.
You have to put things in the proper perspective. Yes, it's May, but it is unseasonably cold for May. I know that if I lived locally, there would be a limited number of games I could attend due to budgetary reasons. So, would I choose to sit in a frigid USCF against the worst team in baseball or wait two weeks and catch a game in somewhat balmier conditions? Coin flip. Heads I wait. Tails I go tonight. Now, where the hell is my two headed coin?

Official Game Thread 5-3-05
I'll admit, I get nervous when Shingo comes into a close game. But, I believe Ozzie's doing the right thing by gradually trying to get him back to his former self. He doesn't have to rely on just Shingo to close games, and he hasn't been doing that. But, he's got to put the save opportunity out there occasionally for him.
