I guess we'll have to wait till October to find out who is right.

Honel leaves game w/ elbow injury
We need to put Rex on the job and see if he can find out something. I don't want Honel to even be slowed on his trek to the majors.

I know it's early but......
There were a whole bunch of people that wanted to give PK away, and I heard it all winter long.
-
Timo Perez!
It's all about what happens over the long haul. Too many people are ready to give up on someone too quickly, and in other situations, like Timo today, they annoint him as the Second Coming .....
-
I know it's early but......
Nah. He kind of struggled in September, as did the rest of the team. But, PK can hit and last year was an abberation, imho.

Sox @ Yankees Game Thread
Whew! I just read a 50 page game thread. I need a break. Thanks guys, I always enjoy these. Especially when we thump the Damn Yankees like we did today.

joe crede!
I'm in total agreement with you.

According to Baseball Weekly...
I'm thinking Bellhorn has alreay had his career year. I don't expect him to ever come close to that again. He's been a scrub his whole career. Wunsch has been an effective lefty reliever and teams are crying to get guys like that. I believe we can get more for Kelly than just Mark Bellhorn.

Ozzie has said that he wants his starters to have a 9-inning mindset. I felt he pulled Buehle too early in his start. The fact that JG was on such a roll caused Ozzie to send him back out for the 8th. I have no problem with that. Getting Takatsu in the game when he did was a good move also.

John Rooney Thoughts
I've heard of Nantucket .... and Pawtucket, but Kentucket is a new one on me.

Timo Perez!
I'm glad to see Timo got off to a good start for us. That will keep down most of the "This guy sucks." and "KW is a moron." remarks for a while.

Willie Harris
Brando. I wasn't comparing Crede to Harris. I was comparing the circumstances. All I'm saying is let's see if the guy can do it. As for Schoney, I agree 100%. I summed up my impression of his performance in another thread, but I can't recall where it was. EDIT: The thread is what? now schoe bashing??

Autographs
None. The only one I really want is Carlton Fisk.

Yankees on Trial
Newsflash: All the witnesses that testified against the Yankees are missing. They are also not part of the witness protection program.

Carlos Lee
He'll hit 2 off of Contreras. No worries.

Koch's new nickname
The whole conference sat on one huge whoopee cushion. Vandy and 'Bama were leading the way? That's horrible.
-
what? now schoe bashing??
I watched the first 6 innings today. Schoney did not look good, but didn't look horrible either. He struggled with his control, and was getting squeezed at the same time. The defense helped him out a lot and the Yanks hit a few "atom" balls in key situations. The score could have easily been 8-1 instead of 2-1 after 2 innings. However, Schoney hung in there and gutted it out and kept us in the game.

Koch's new nickname
I can appreciate that. Especially with you being a USC fan and me being a fan of UK. How ironic is that?
-
Willie Harris
I'll take 6 IP with 3 runs allowed from Schoney every time. I know he had some great glove work behind him and the Yanks hit a lot of atom balls, but the end results of SS's day wasn't that bad.

The majority of the games will be played inter-division. I can't see a .500 team realistically winning any division.
-
Koch's new nickname
Ah. Don't take me that serious. I think Koch will be fine. I just thought it was a mildly amusing nickname.
-
How was E-Lo today?
The Cubs will certainly be out of it by the break. Maybe we can get one of their studs.
-
Koch's new nickname
With his "beard" and his penchant for blowing games, the most appropriate nickname would have to be "Billy Goat".

The official Sox in 2004 thread
Please excuse me. We are playing at a pitiful .333 clip. I am going into PANIC MODE.

Willie Harris
Crede got the OPPORTUNITY to prove himself. The put him at 3rd, left him there and jack him around by yanking him in and out of the lineup. Harris hasn't had that chance yet, so we don't know if he can cut it or not.
