I'd hate to give up Cotts, because so many people are impressed with the guy. But still, he's a AA pitcher that might or might not have success in the big leagues. Weaver has proven he can pitch, and pitch well.
I'd like to see what Harris at 2b and Rowand in CF could do for awhile. We have a month till the deadline. These guys both look like they are starting to get with the program.
Weaver is a good pitcher. If we can get him without getting raped, I say do it. Whether he signed with us or not when he was drafted is of no concern today.
You don't think the Expos were going to pay Juan Gone do you? Nope... that's the price these days. The Sox are competing with a couple of teams for Alomar, so that could jack up the price a bit.
Rowand showed enough last season after the Lofton trade for me believe he'll be a good ballplayer. Early this year, when he struggled, I thought it was due to his injuries. I'm sure they did play a part in it, but I'm glad he went down to AAA and got himself straightened out. He's looking more like the player I always thought he could be.
I agree.
Heather what did you do to Carlos Lee? The guy is absolutely zoned in on that baseball now. He was just impressive to no end.
Carlos's overall game has picked up considerably in the last month or so. He seemed to be the first one that noticably started busting ass to try and get the Sox out of their early season doldrums.
Really the odds of any of this happening are remote at best. But, playing GM is kind of fun, and it does open conversation. So, at times when I read a thread like this I think "WTF", it's still worthwhile if for nothing but pure entertainment.
Im concerned about a guy like Lebron. He is gonna have to be ONE STRONG PERSON to deal with the overwhelming expectations being cast on him. It goes much deeper than just his basketball skills. My guess is the poor guy will never live up to the hype, and how could he?
I can't see how he possibly can live up to it. They really have made him out to be the next MJ. How the hell can a kid live up to that? Hopefully, he has very good NBA career and all this crap just doesn't ruin the kid.
Kate Hepburn was one of the most eloquent, dignified and beautiful ladies that was ever in Hollywood. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that she was Hollywood's finest lady.
Thanks for the congrats, but I got lucky because I really am not sure how all this is working. For example, What do the - & + numbers in parenthesis represent?
