  1. What the hell, I'm gonna hop back in on this...... and on a lark I'm picking Willie Harris.
  2. It's your marriage ... gamble with it if you so choose.
  3. It would be great if all Sox fans in right field just turned their backs to Sosa when he come running out there.

    NBA Draft Thread

For the record, I'm a Kentucky fan. I have no bitterness towards Pitino. He salvaged the program from the Eddie Sutton debacle and then brought two NCAA championships here. I know, Tubby Smith was coach for the 2nd one in '98, but it was done with Pitino recruits.
  5. Damn... is someone in the front office reading this thread? LOL... probably. But I did confirm with him that the Sox have been calling. He said for the past week at least. Confirm with who?
  6. Anytime your swing is f***ed up, go back to basics. Try and hit the ball hard up the middle. Or, as I used to tell the guys I coached, try and hit the pitcher right between the eyes with the baseball. (that gave them a laugh before going into the box) If you are trying to do that you are basically going to focus more on one very important thing... the baseball. Try it ... it works. Work on it in BP or at the cages. Hard up the middle.
  7. Buehrle said he doesn't like pitching in the Dome... BFD. He showed that he would and could pitch there whether he likes it or not.
  8. I'm not being pessimistic. Just stating a very realistic point.
  9. Yeah I've said all along that Dan Wright could be turned into a rock-solid closer someday. He might even pull an Eric Gagne. I totally agree with your addition by subtraction idea but this team is too dumb to do that. If only we would unload the dumbasses like DLo, Lee, Koch, and build from the ground up, think how good of a team we could be in a few years. I almost wish that we are in the state of the Indians right now. They have so many talented young players and are building from the ground up. They're in the state that they could actually afford to try someone like Wright as their closer. Screw that! ... I'm tired of the perpetual rebuilding that the Sox are always doing. We've got some solid ballplayers and pitchers. We don't need to "build from the ground up", we need to retool a little bit. But we have to have someone that knows what moves to make. Someone besides KW.
  10. Those lost opportunities won't be forgotten if we finish 2 games back.
  11. Rex, you have a way of putting things in the proper perspective. Patience is something that is in short supply on this board, in general. Yes... I know ... 1917 and all that.
  12. We are not out of it by any means. But we have missed some golden opportunities.

    Aaron Miles

Jiminez isn't exactly making an impact. Correction, a positive impact. I think Miles deserves a shot since Jiminez has been so unproductive lately.
  14. They lost 2 out of 3 to the stinking Brewers. Maybe we did send them reeling last weekend. Ok, let's stomp 'em when they are down.
  15. If his problem is not the degenerative hip condition that we have heard about here, then it is definiely a mental block of some sort. Paulie is too good of a hitter to hit so poorly for so long. I hope he can get things straightened out soon.
  16. Actually folks, we are 5.5 out. 4.5 in back of the Twins.
  17. I believe you hit the nail on the head as for why there are 3 day games. I think one night game out of the three is not too much to ask.
  18. I believe that would be Baltimore... just before the Twins smoked our asses in Minnesota last time.
  19. When you stop and think about it, we have played well enough to really have put together a nice streak. The last three losses, game 4 vs Boston, game 3 vs the Cubs and game 2 vs Minn, we really should have won each one of those games. That would be a sweet little nine game winning streak going.
  20. I really don't think Koch is choosing to throw at 92 instead of 98.
  21. I hope Stewart gets his act together quickly. I have the feeling we will need him up here before this season is over.
  22. Really ... Get off of PK's back. You know that guy is really beating himself up about the way he is struggling. He hasn't b****ed, moaned or griped about anything this year, other than his own performance.
  23. Prior to the series, I think most of us would have been happy if we knew we were going to come out of that nightmarish Baggie Dome with 2 out of 3. However, we all know that we should have won game 2. So, it is with some reluctance that vote to look at this positively. But, yes Gash ... We really could stand to run off 9 or 10 in arow. It wouldn't hurt a bit.
  24. I thoroughly enjoy Hawk do a Sox game. He is articulate and he knows his s***. Hawk and Stone would be a great tandem, if their egos didn't get in the way.
  25. Exactly! What the f*** is this guy talkin about? He doesn't deserve to start cause he was an average player the previous seasons of his career? My head is spinning right now.... The player who's having the best year THIS YEAR should start the game...It's not like he's just getting breaks here and there...has a era of 3.00 or something...His ERA is under 2! In what, 15 or 16 starts?! That's being dominant...f*** Him :fyou I couldn't have said that any better. Loiaza has been, without a doubt, the best starting pitcher in the AL up to this point. Period.
