And that redeems what? We got beat 18 to 3. That's totally embarrassing.
-
Sure 2-7 is unacceptable. But you can't just release a pitcher like Mark Buehrle. Weare going to have to give him a chance to work through this. He's a proven winner.
-
Comments like that make me at least consider that having KW as GM might not be so bad.

Every body expecdts these young guys to come up and just tear it up. It takes time. They have to learn how to deal with ML pitching, and just living the life of a big league ball player. It's an adjustment. Look at Corey Patterson... he sucked big time for two years, but now his talent is coming through. Albert Pujols types don't come along very often.
-
Over his current losing streak, Mark's ERA is over 7. Run support is not an issue under those circumstances. Mark is struggling, but we all know what kind of pitcher he is capable of being. You don't throw away two good years for two bad months.
-
I was referencing his potential in regards to his trade value. Yes, it's time for JG to put some damn notches in the W column. Now.
-
We have to just chalk this one up as one of those nights, and go get 'em tomorrow.
-
What "bag of tricks" are you referring to?

Before the injury to Eli Morrero, I think the Cards would have done this deal. Drew has been hobbled by knee and back injuries the past two seasons, and he's 27. Garland is 23 and STILL has a lot of potential. This could be one of those trades that are good for both teams. Though, since the injury to Morrero, that leaves the Crads shorthanded in the OF.

You scared me there for a minute... I thought you were going to say Ryne Sandberg.
-
So, I'm posting my PTC here. Brian Daubach, if he starts. Carlos Lee if not. Is this legal?
-
Besides, when I became a fan, there was no Oakland. The A's were still in KC.

I am sooooooooo glad tha Lakers are history. Because the Spursdid the honors, and Tim Duncan and David robinson are class acts, I'm a Spurs fan through the end of the playoffs. Go Spurs!

I wonder how HSC came up with hers?
-
Dumping Lofton was a good move. He was not doing anything for us at that point, with his hamstring problems.
-
I was thinking of that excerpt from the Beane book about the Sox drafting Ring and letting that RHSP drop to Beane.

a little thing called the Constitution.... who decides if something is indisputable if not the trial procedure in the judicial system? An initial plea of not guilty is very standard and means nothing. Now the plea is entered, the states atttorney and defense attorney do their thing and figure out what in fact the accused will plead guilty to and what the sentence will be - the defense attorney is doing her/his job - in a high profile case everyone is going to stake out some ground - any one here who was ever charged with a crime, you'd want your attorney to do everything for you - I doubt it will have any impact in this case - but the attorney is just doing what the attorney is supposed to do and what you'd want done for you if it were your ass being acccused - and when they have come to agreement a new plea will be entered, sentence imposed, and no trial - but everyone is entitled to a trial, everyone - it is a cost of freedom. That's just great cw. Everyone wants to come in here to rant and rave and hang this Wrigley reject for embarrassing the Sox and their fans, and you come in here spouting intelligence and common sense for crissake!

Do you know where we can find one?
-
No No No! We do not want to try Glover as a starter again. If we need another starter, let's send JG down and bring Rauch or Stewart. Glover does just fine right where he is.

I was happy to see KC beat the Twins tonight. Simply because the Twins have been on somewhat of a roll, and losing that long tough game may take some of the wind out of their sails. Just in time for us to come in there and stomp the hell out of them.
-
I just believe that Rowand is simply not fully recovered from that accident. He did a real solid job for us after Lofton was traded last year. When he gets healthy, which may not be till next spring (see Frank Thomas for an example), he'll be back to the solid steady ballplayer he was as a regular in 2002.
-
OK, that's accomplished. Now on to Minnesota and kick some Twinkie ass!

i think its about time we lay off jerry manuel

First of all, I'd have Rios or Daubach in the lineup every time we faced a right hander, alternately resting Lee, Harris, Magglio, Frank and PK. He's already moved Garland down to the #5 starter, so he beat me to the punch on that one. I'd also attempt to stretch our starters out farther than JM does. Shoot for 110-115 pitchers rather than 100. Let them build some endurance and start each game expecting to go 9. I'd fine Willie Harris every time he hit anything that resembled a fly ball. -
Clayton did make a helluva a play in the 14th with a runner on 3rd. Skied for a liner headed to left. Saved a run, but it all went for nothing later.
-
I'm not so sure about that. Speaking strictly from a non-biased point of view. They are a pretty solid team right now.
