How in the hell is Lee's bat going to come back while he's on the bench? This guy has too much hitting talent to give up on him after one bad week.

I don't see why people think Rauch is a sure fire future HOF'er. He has potential to be a good pitcher. But that is a long way from being a solid major league pitcher. I think some people are so focused on his height, thinking he's the mirror image of the Big Unit. He's not. He doesn't have Johnson's fastball. Not even close to the intimidation factor that Johnson has. As for Prior, now this is a kid with real potential. Can be a great one. But, let's make him prove it before he's enshrined in Cooperstown.

After reading that article, it may be that MJs perspective will change after the Wizard's season comes to an end. Considering that Jordan coming here is a longshot, I'd like to see John Paxson get the job.

After the Rick Mirer and Cade McNown fiascos, I just can't see the Bears drafting a QB in the first round, unless they trade down. Especially with Angelo pulling the trigger.

After reading some of these threads lately, my bulls*** detectors are working fine.

What if Loaiza and Stewart r the real deal?

Mark my words, Dombrowski, Trammel and Gibson will turn that franchise around. -
I've always believed Frank should hit in the #4 spot, especially when we had Ventura. I think Robin would had been a consumate #3 hitter with Frank behind him. However, Maggs does hit into quite a few DP's and in this case, I think Frank at 3# and Maggs at #4 is the way they should be.

6 hits and 2 walks and 1 HBP might be a clue as to why they pulled Jim after 3 2/3 inning. That's 9 baserunners in under 4 innings. I'd say Jim was struggling a bit. Get 'em next time Jim!

I always felt that Beane got a little bit lucky with Zito, Mulder and Hudson. How many times do three prospects work out that well? Even if their abilities were a no-brainer, the fact that none of them broke down with injuries reinforces my theory that he was somewhat lucky. That being said, you have to give him his due for his overall abilities to "generally manage" that organzation.

Some of you folks are amazing.... Let's see what Flash and some of these others that you are crucifying do over a period of a few weeks. It is way to soon to panic.

First of all, Frank was recovering from a pretty bad injury last season. That may explain why Thome's OPS was so much higher than Frank's. Also, someone mentioned that Frank is not aggresive enough at the plate. Last year Frank's problem was that he was TOO aggresive. He had always been a patient hitter, and would wait till the pitcher had to come in with the pitch Frank wanted, or he would jump on a mistake pitch. Last year, the pitchers knew Frank would get himself out by hacking away, so they never gave him his pitch. Besides that, he saw fewer pitches by hacking away, and therefore saw less "mistakes". Frank has got the right mindset right now. If he stays patient, he will have Frank Thomas type numbers this year.

Clayton had .200 average today, with only 5 men LOB? Hmmmm.... sounds like he's improved over last year.

I agree with you. Not only is everyone jumping on White, but we are ready to dump anyone who is struggling. And we are talking about some good ballplayers. I don't get it.
-
I'd have to add Runelys (sp?) Hernandez. He sure got us off to a bad start this season.
-
Not everyobne can start off "hot". Carlos is a good hitter. He'll get it going.

Yep, I usually get your point. thats cause we have that great minds thing going........... Ya ... that's a good start! LOL

Having pitching depth should prove to be very valuable this year. In fact, with Wright going down, it already has. -
alot of guys earned the right to play and are not here playing... so i dont see how that matters....... danny will most likely go to the pen and stewie will keep doin what hes doin as long as he keeps doing it well.. he is afterall one of kw's favs............ If he keeps doing it well, he'll be one of my favorites too.

That is a great article. I posted a link to that in one of the threads a few days ago. It's unusual to see pro-Sox/Soxfans and anti-Cub/Cubfan press coming from the Chicago area media.

Jiminez, apparently, has a past that suggests he has some issues with his teammates. Let's hope it's just youthful cockiness, and he grows out of it soon. Odds are, that won't happen, but we should give him the benefit of the doubt for now. As for Ray Durham, he was and still is a very good all around baseball player. I respect his abilities and his game. He could score 200 runs hitting in front of Bonds this year. I wish him well in Frisco.

This could prove to be quite a dilemma. Danny Wright has earned a chance to continue to prove himself in the Sox rotation, but if Stewart keeps pitching his ass off, then he also would deserve to stay in the rotation. Hell, he might end up being ROY.
-
Based on what you said about Danny Wrights spring training performance in another thread, you should absolutely hate Rick White.

It's possible, but they didn't "ruin" Bartolo Colon. Sometimes, things just happen.
