I would to see the Packers trade up and get Mack. They would probably only have to trade away about 15 picks. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 12:25 PM) I get that is a worthy consideration, but really their goal ought to be to win the super bowl every year right now and worry about the cap ramifications in 2 years when it becomes a huge problem and forces their teams dismantling. That's pretty much going to happen to some degree. Win the trophy again while you can. Allen was going to be a luxury for the Seahawks. They probably had a certain price in mind and weren't willing to go over that. Having Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas for 5 plus years is way more important than having Allen. John Schneider will probably find a good pass rusher in the draft anyway. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 26, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) I'm interested to hear what Allen says in his press conference. It is very curious to me that he chose the Bears over a chance with the Seahawks. Obviously I don't know what the hangup is with the seahawks(probably amount of money) but you would think he would take less to play on a instant SB contender Of course it was about money. I'm guessing the Bears came in with an offer he couldn't pass. Also, it's not like he was passing on the Seahawks to go play for the Titans. Bears are at least a .500 team. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 21, 2014 -> 03:21 PM) In case anyone missed it, this report is false...at least for now. Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 1h Tidbit 1 on Jared Allen: He's considering 3 places now, with walking away still an option. Should know by the weekend what his future is Seahawks are obviously one of the teams, have to wonder if the Bears are another. From what has been reported the only teams he's been in contact with have been Seattle, Dallas, Denver, and Chicago. Denver is out after the Ware signing and it was reported that it was either gonna be Melton or Allen in Dallas, not both. Seattle has to be the favorite, but I suppose he could be interested in Chicago. I still think he ends up in Seattle. -

@AdamSchefter So it's Jared Allen as a Seahawk, per Ed Werder, and Devin Hester as a Falcon. Quite a non-hoops afternoon. -

Bears have brought in a lot of safeties, I still think they draft one, I'm just not sure about the first round anymore. Maybe I just want Calvin Pryor to fall to the Packers. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 18, 2014 -> 10:28 AM) Just look at the dominant team in the NFC North. Most of their roster has never played for another team. Letroy Guion and Julius Peppers are the only players that came from other teams. -
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 17, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) I was really bothered by the over the top assault on religion last night on Cosmos. It seemed completely unnecessary. I didn't notice anything.

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 16, 2014 -> 07:35 PM) So do the Seahawks have any cornerbacks beside Sherman now? Byron Maxwell well probably start across from Sherman. They also have Deshawn Shead. He is another big corner. 6'2 220. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 15, 2014 -> 01:25 PM) 3/30 is cheap for a guy who won't be a full time player? NFL contracts are never what they seem. Only 7.5 million of that is guaranteed. He will only count 3.5 million against the Packers salary cap. So it's basically a one year deal. -

They got Peppers cheap and he won't be a full time player. I expect the Packers to be running a more hybrid defense this year. If they can all stay healthy, I think they can be pretty good, but the health is the big question mark with that team. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 02:58 PM) I think there's a bit of "Bears hate" in this comment. He'll be at the very least an above average DE. Not at all Bears hate. I just think people are getting carried away. He is not going to be a great pass rusher or above average. I do think it's a nice cheap signing for a solid player. I still wouldn't be surprised if the Bears drafted a DE pretty early in the draft, maybe even first round. Someone like Kony Ealy. If I have any hate it's towards on crazy free agency has become. Every time a team signs a player it becomes a huge deal and the player is going to be great. Most free agent signings end up not working out. Player is either past his prime or under preforms. A lot of these players end up only spending one year with a team and then get cut. -

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 13, 2014 -> 01:58 PM) He also rated really well in 2011 in limited reps. He's definitely an up and coming player who has the potential to be a great pass rusher. And yeah, football is always going to be a very team-dependent sport. Great pass rusher? He's a nice role player, but if he is your starter, you are probably trying to replace him. -

Willie Young had a nice year, but I bet a lot of that had to do with being on a line with Suh, Fairley and Ansah. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 12:47 PM) I expected this exact post when I heard he was signed, lol I had this bad feeling the Packers would bring him back. So this is a sigh of relief. I can't imagine the Bears are playing on starting him. They must be looking at him for special teams and depth.
