QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) That deadweight is like our 4th best hitter since the break. Tonight's RF, who Ozzie will hate since he doesn't steal 50 or hit 50 over the fence, had half our hits. He's a deadweight too I'm sure, he's not a 30 year old slap hitter who steals a thousand bases, and he doesn't hit a thousand home runs. Bastard.

Anybody: "Ozzie, what do you think of Kevin Youkilis and his .400 OBP as a leadoff man" Ozzie: "THAT BISH ISN'T FAST ENOUGH!! AND ONLY 13 HOME RUNS, HAVE MORE POWER!!"

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Call me crazy, but I have a feeling that Ozzie wants to see Juan Pierre leading off in CF for the Sox next year. He's like Dusty with young players, maybe even worse. Fortunately, I don't think long term Kenny will stand for this bull s*** with the younger players, but God is Ozzie an idiot or what??

Birthday: 5/13/86 (younger than me by 3 months, damn I'm old) Birthplace: The City of Angels, Cali College: Chaffey Junior College Height: 6'0 Weight: 190 Bats and Throws RH Draft: 11th round pick (335th overall) by Chicago White Sox in June, 2005 Amateur Draft 2006 at Kanny: 1-6, 6 saves, 3.72 ERA, 44 games (9 starts), 94.1 IP, 61 hits, 46 runs (39 earned), 7 home runs, 65 BB, 107 k's, .184 opp BA 2005 at Bristol: 3-2, 4.70 ERA, 18 games (7 starts), 44 IP, 40 hits, 23 runs (23 earned), 2 HR, 25 BB, 40 k's His numbers at Kanny are pretty ridiculous.....107 k's, .184 opponent ba, and 61 hits in 94.1 IP is DOMINANT, but 65 walks, so Jason needs to throw more strikes. Only 20 years old though, so Rice is a pretty decent prospect IMO, just needs to get the ball over the plate.

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) Lemont lost again. It just goes to show that 2 good players can't carry a crappy team. I really didn't understand where all the hype was coming from since we lost most of our skill players besides Nagel. We have no WRs and no secondary. Well they are 0-2, but this weeks loss was to Sterling, who is one of the best teams in the state, and was a 22-19 heartbreaker, so I can't hate too much. Although I can hate on this, Joliet Catholic loses to a crippled Morris team coming off a 34-0 loss, to fall to 0-2. Fantastic!! Gotta recruit better this offseason I guess. -
We've quit for the past 8 games now. We've gotten the pitching in 6 out of the 8 games, but the offense hasn't even shown up. We're now at the point of fun bad, and all I can do is laugh. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 09:38 PM) Another retard calls up the score to profess the problem with the sox is lack of rowand. Because Rowand dove for a ball and Anderson doesnt have to. Moron. For any person that lacks the insight this is all that needs to be said. Anderson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rowand in the field. And Rowand hit .245 in August, and .235 in September. Any child with a slider owned Rowand late last year. How many balls bounced in front of Rowand against the Indians. Just because someone runs into a fence, doesnt make him a good fielder. One more rowand call, and I am going to vomit. I now effin hate Aaron Rowand, the stupid part of our fanbase has left me no choice. Brian Anderson is a better baseball player, I wish people realized that.

I know I'll never win with the Ozzie defenders, since if we don't pitch, he can't control it and if we don't hit, he can't control it, and I also am not going to rip on his strategy. I just find it interesting that this team has obviously quit, and supposedly our manager is the firey guy that gets intensity out of his players and never lets our guard down. We have quit the last 8 games now (even the first 2 vs. Tampa we didn't care), and nothing has changed. This team is going to miss the playoffs, the biggest waste of talent I've ever seen for the Sox, and when you have talent and look like you don't care, it goes to the manager. -
QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 06:10 PM) I cant believe I just read that I'm glad I read it. So our hitting coach, 3rd base coach, and manager are idiots, our bench coach used to have a crack addiction problem, and our 1st base coach is sleepy.

6:30 start tonight, rain delay.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) So basically Jerry Owens is a rung below God. Not bad. I'm shocked it took 31 minutes for that post to happen.

Omogrosso has been better lately for Kanny, 1-1 with a 2.21 in his last 10 outings. And most important, only 3 walks in that span (20.1 IP) after having 8 walks in his first 9.1 IP. Also, Rice with the 99 k's in 86.2 is very solid, but the 56 walks is concerning, including 31 in his last 33.2 IP. He's barely 20 years old though, so that strikeout split would make me think he has pretty good stuff, as well as the fact he's only given up 56 hits in 86.2 IP overall.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:41 PM) Sox runner thrown out at third With nobody out, and then Hawk and D.J. as well as Farmer will defend the runner for being aggresive, and after the game, same story from Rongey and Ozzie.
-
What happens first tonight: Sox runner is thrown out at home, or we see Neal Cotts in the game to face Morneau/Mauer?
-
Anderson is 2 for 11 with a walk against Johan btw. But between that and the fact he's given mostly quality AB's against him, that's as good as anybody we've got.
-
Rob hitting .233 against lefties btw. Pablo in LF I can live with since he went 1 for 3 against Santana in each of our last 2 games against him, but Rob in CF is mind boggling. I mean Jesus, DH him and put Paulie at 1B if you want Rob in the lineup that bad. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 05:26 PM) No sir, it is not. I'm sick of him.

Mack is in CF tonight against Johan. This might be more egregious an offense than anything last night. -
Btw, Anderson had the best at bats against Johan outside of Thome's HR at the game I went to, and he also had 3 good at bats and a hit against him last weeekend. But yeah, Rob has a great shot, after all he kills lefties. At least we have our best defender in there at CF though.
-
MACK IN CF?!?!?!?! I'm not even going to rip Ozzie, the actions speaking louder than any of my words can.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) That's exactly what I thought when I saw we were in the mix now. I would be SHOCKED if he goes to Indiana, it's all about the $$$ and Indiana isn't going to be cheating. Memphis though, it's about their level to pay a guy to go there, so I hope he enjoys it. He's a 1 and done guy anyways, so unless he goes Carmelo in March of 2008 I doubt it's a huge deal where he goes anyway since he's not a giant like Oden. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) ANy of you know anything about Diante Garrett? Also Jon Leuer, a guy looking at IU, seems to have renewed interest in Iowa State and plans to visit next week. Garrett is pretty tall for a point guard (6'4 or 6'5) and his dad played with Walt Frazier at SIU and then with the Lakers in the NBA. And....yeah that's all I got. Leuer is very highly regarded as a solid 4 star prospect on both major sites. He's visiting ISU on Thursday, but is making several other visits coming up too (West Virginia, Indiana, Louisville, and Iowa) so who knows. He's 6'10 and 200 pounds, and here's what scout.com has on him:

That Barrington/Libertyville game had one of the more bizarre endings I've ever heard. It was tied at 26, and Libertyville botched the snap on a game winning 28 yard FG attempt, only to recover and throw a TD pass as time ran out to win the game. Libertyville picks up a HUGE road win, but kinda sad a game between 2 teams that good was decided like that. The defending 7A Champs Prospect hammered DGN 33-0 to make up for their only loss last year. Lincoln Way East was VERY lucky to escape with a 15-14 win over Providence. LWE is one of the higher ranked teams nationally I've seen around here before a season, but they survived to beat Providence (who was supposedly down this year) on a 45 yard punt return with 2 mins left. Lemont of course lost, since I said how good they'd be, Lincon Way Central got hammered at home by East St. Louis, who is back to glory day level in terms of talent, and sadly, Lake Park beat WHarris1's beloved Naperville Central in a 17-14 heartbreaker . *waits for profanity edited rant on how refs screwed NC over from Willie* -
QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 04:28 PM) http://www.bofunk.com/video/2479/baseball_in_the_balls.html My friend and I were at that game in the 3rd row of the upper deck on the 1st base side, so we had a perfect view of where it hit him. We were laughing for the rest of the game, and then I got home and watched the TIVO and Hawk and DJ's reaction was even more priceless.
-
I honestly would have let him face Morneau. I know he's a 5 and dive, but he had made Morneau look bad twice, and was a far better option that Cotts. Either way though, last night was not his fault, unless he manages the bullpen and decides when to pinch hit.
-
Rose is a Memphis lock, so that news is not a surprise. He's heading to the highest bidder, just like we've known for a while.
-
This is as close to a must win as you find in the regular season. If we let Johan own us again after suffering the worst loss of the season by far last night, Minnesota might just ride that wave to another sweep and a 2.5 game lead. PLEASE, somebody step up.

http://www.fortbendstar.com/Archives/2002_...20President.htm Now was she full of crap?? Quite possibly, but then again.... http://www.fortbendstar.com/Archives/2003_...ound%20dead.htm Now MAYBE the single gunshot wound to the head was actually a suicide............ But even if this is all bullish, why the hell wasn't it reported by anybody. The President being sued for sex crimes is pretty big news last I checked.
