  1. Would you call it 80 grade, though? Having 80 grade Bohm hair and 80 grade Hansen Pitch Face is guaranteed to bring at least 3 championships.
  2. He belongs in the 9-12 range. I think what was propping him up so high was that he was everyone's fallback plan, but there's no fallback to be had.
  3. Where did he say that? That would at least make Madrigal the obvious choice at 4.
  4. With the first pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, the Chicago White Sox select Adley Rutschman, C, Oregon State University. This will probably be wrong on both counts, but I'll look like a genius if it's right.
  5. Not me. I want it to be over. I want to know.
  6. Watching this thread likely has the least delay. Twitter will probably have the picks a couple minutes before the broadcast.
  7. He's probably the most connected to real info since he works for mlb.com, right?
  8. In other words, that's an incredibly rare player, unlike a 3 or 4 starter.
  9. Expanding a bit from earlier: 1) Mize 2) Madrigal 3) Bohm 4) Bart 5) India 6) Swaggerty 7) Kelenic 8.) Stewart 9) Gorman 10) Larnach 11) Singer To be clear, I would take Trevor Larnach over Brady Singer.
  10. Look at Fangraphs grades on Madrigal. 70 hit 70 speed 60 field 50 (game) power 50 arm. For reference, according to Kiley's chart from his explaining scouting project, a 50 power grade was ~20 HR in 2014, which is likely a higher total today. Name a .300 hitting, 20-20 potential, Gold Glove caliber 2B in MLB today. There's Altuve and?
  11. People making that comp are referring to the violence in both deliveries and the pedigree of the school propping up the stock of each player. In those respects, I think the comparison is valid.
  12. That trade has gotten much better looking in the past 3 months.
  13. A 3-4 starter is a 2-3 WAR player. An .800-.850 OPSing Gold Glove 2B is a 4-5 WAR player. That's the difference.
  14. It's not worse by much, and C is a much more premium defensive position than 3B.
  15. I keep saying the upside is Altuve, but no one else seems to see that. Not even Fangraphs, whose tool grades essentially have him as an .800-.850 OPSing Gold Glove 2B.
  16. That's been what they've been trying to avoid for a while now.
  17. And that makes more sense as a reason why. If you don't have a 2 or 3, making the 1 count is even more important.
