  1. I see no reason not to, but I've always been the type of person who doesn't give a shit what a player does or is like off the field, as long as it won't affect his availability to be on the field, and his issues, which are behind him completely, won't. Getting a #2/#3 upside LHSP in the middle rounds of the draft would be a steal.
  2. Disagree, but I see Jose Altuve upside in him, and I know most don't agree with that. That said, Fangraphs grades seem to agree with me.
  3. If the White Sox draft Heimlich, they will have 0 registered sex offenders in the org. Heimlich wasn't an adult, so he's not a pedophile. In fact, for the age when he was caught and treated, the recidivism rate is less than 5%. He was likely an abused child himself who didn't know any better.
  4. Why? The name of the game is finding value. You'll be hard pressed to find better value in this draft.
  5. Not similar, better. At least in my opinion. Also, what happened to America being the land of opportunity and second chances? He was convicted of a crime and completed the terms of his sentence. Why shouldn't he have the opportunity to try to make a lucrative career for himself?
  6. Why draft Singer at 4 when you can draft Heimlich likely in the 11th round? Better stats, better grades, bigger need because he's a LHSP, and Madrigal has a 70 grade hit tool, those don't come through the draft that often, and they're usually taken 1-1.
  7. Still bored. Madrigal, please.
  8. Correct. C is Casey Mize. A is Luke Heimlich.
  9. A is not Brady Singer. A is the pitcher who was the point of the comparison.
  10. One of the above pitchers is Brady Singer, can you guess which?
  11. Another very good one, he has a decent chance to play significant reps at C in MLB.
  12. Yurchak, Blackman, Battenfield, and Rivera from last year's draft look like they could work out in that regard. Also Gonzalez, Henzman, and McClure depending on what you consider the "middle rounds".
  13. It's the depth behind those guys that make the difference. Carlos Rodon, Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada, Yolmer Sanchez, Matt Davidson, Daniel Palka, Lucas Giolito, Carson Fulmer, Jordan Stephens, Thyago Vieira, Zack Burdi, Zack Collins, Seby Zavala, Dane Dunning, Alec Hansen, Ian Clarkin, Jordan Guerrero, Spencer Adams, Ian Hamilton, Ryan Burr, Jose Ruiz, Dylan Cease, Jimmy Lambert, Bernardo Flores, Blake Rutherford, Luis Alexander Basabe, Micker Adolfo, Luis Robert, Jake Burger, Gavin Sheets, Ti'Quan Forbes, Yeyson Yrizarri, Matt Foster, Luis Gonzalez, Laz Rivera, Tate Blackman, Blake Battenfield, Lincoln Henzman, Kade McClure, some of the players who will be drafted June 4-6, and some of the players who will be drafted in 2019 are the depth behind the three guys you mentioned that will determine whether this rebuild will work or fail. The Sox didn't have anything close to that level of depth behind Sale, Q, and Eaton, which is why it didn't work.
  14. It's 4, but it's not just you. There's a drop after Mize, Bart, Bohm, Madrigal. I just hope the Sox aren't dumb enough to draft Singer.
  15. How is that even related to what I said? Sympathy for victims has nothing to do with sympathy for criminals based on the crime they committed and the length of their sentence.
  16. Well, do you think those who get the most from society should have to pay the most for it to exist? Do you think that if a group gets about 50% of the income in this country, that they should be paying about 50% of the taxes?
  17. So maybe he's a 25% line drive hitter with the adjustments to his swing? That would be a huge positive development.
  18. Bart will likely be picked in the top 3, but in the first round, they only need a board of 4. If I was making that board, it would be: 1) Mize 2) Madrigal 3) Bohm 4) Bart
  19. I'll feel sorry for him when mandatory minimum sentencing for possession of illegal drugs is done away with. I feel a lot worse for people doing more time for having a small amount of a drug that is now legal in many states, including states where prisoners are serving those sentences.
  20. Maybe the adjustment in his swing turned him into a better/more frequent line drive hitter? If 30% is unsustainable, what could be sustainable? 20%? 25%?
  21. For the hitters, yes. Eloy and Collins should've split it. Both crushed the ball at a higher and more age appropriate level. Gonzalez's line is great, but he's a former college player tearing up low A. That's not terribly impressive.
  22. Doesn't look like they did much of an update, mostly just moved guys around.
  23. I don't know, I started boarding the Madrigal bandwagon around this time last year.
  24. Cool. I don't necessarily buy Law. Fangraphs has him as a 40 hit tool, and in situations where he's had opportunities to hit with a wood bat, such as the collegiate team USA, he's struggled. I'd rather have a potential starter with a great pitch mix who needs some refinement or a position player who plays a premium position and is a lot closer to a 5 tool guy. Beer has one very loud tool (power) that you'd better hope carries him, because he'll bust out otherwise.
