You mean the people who want the benefits of having a society without having to pay for it? Sorry, I have no sympathy for what happens to them. As far as I'm concerned, all libertarians can go occupy a patch of land somewhere and play thunderdome on it until they've killed themselves off, because that's essentially what they seem to want society to be.

I doubt it hurts mobilization efforts any more than calling those voters Superpredators.

This post is a bit disingenuous. Beckham had a total of 196 PAs above A ball before being called up. Most of those were in AA where he had an .862 OPS, over 100 points shy of Eloy's current AA OPS of .968, with similar numbers for the 209 PAs he's had in AA. Beckham wasn't doing nearly the level of damage with the bat that Eloy is, and I doubt anyone would be calling for a promotion for him if his OPS was .862. Further, if he's not going to even possibly get the call until mid-July, that's another 120-150 PAs. If he still has a .950ish OPS after 330-360 PAs, what more would he have to prove in AA? At that point, AAA could be an option, but the pitching isn't much more of a challenge and the hitting environment in general is much better than in AA, and he's already destroying AA pitching. Seems like MLB would be the most logical place to give him his next challenge.

Back to rookie ball for him, clearly he's struggling with the level.

I'm going to start calling you the Verbiage Police. It makes as much sense as calling progressives the Purity Police. If you know he's not a racist and you know the message he's trying to deliver, why nitpick?

You're probably a socialist. You should read up on it, what you're saying here are many of the problems socialists have with capitalism. You didn't really just "taxation is theft", did you? I like having things like roads, property rights, enforceable contracts, emergency services, and an educated population. These are some of the many services society offers for which society must pay. Taxation is how the government collects the revenue to pay for those services. Ideally, all taxation would be progressive so that those who benefit from society the most pay the most for it. As someone who deals with these matters regularly, I assure you that "pay your taxes or go to jail" is a myth. The IRS will levy your bank account and wages long before they try to put you in jail, because their goal is to get more revenue for the government, not less. Furthermore, the IRS has a debt forgiveness program for those who truly can't afford to pay the amounts they owe. 26 USC 7122, check it out sometime. Because socialism works better for the majority than capitalism. It's logical, considering capitalism's is about greed and taking everything you can, where socialism is about society and making things fair and equitable. Wrong again. People renounce their citizenship without consequence all the time. Apparently, they did it at record rates in 2017. Ah, yes he committed the high moral crime of believing minority communities would be better served by improving economic equality than by constantly trading away their economic freedoms for farcical, pyrrhic "victories" on social issues. I believe that high moral crime is defined in Chapter 18, Subchapter M, Section 2016 of the "Reddy Code of Insufferable Democratic Insanity". Could you confirm?

The 80 pitch face strikes again.

You should share, then.

Well, at least I've never suggested trading a middle of the order bat as a salary dump. If that's what you consider a "quality post", then I'm good with not meeting your standard.

Start talking crap about all the good prospects so they improve like Abreu does when you talk crap about him.

I'm really liking Adley Rutschman at this point. Switch hitting catcher from Oregon State hitting over .400 with more walks than strikeouts.

Wow, I love his swing. I'm no scout, but his hands seem lightning quick to me and it looks like he can get the barrel to any ball. Also liked seeing the change in 2 strike approach that led to a opposite field single (honestly that part was very reminiscent of Frank Thomas). -
I understand that even if I wholeheartedly and vehemently disagree with the idea of party over policy or country. I also understand that it's hypocritical for any Democrat to claim that it's unfair for Bernie to do in the Vermont Senate race the exact same thing the DNC did to him in the presidential race.
-
A politician's answer if I ever saw one. Avoid the actual question, stick to talking points, stay on the attack. Yes, it is hypocritical for you to call out Bernie for doing the same thing you supported the DNC doing to him. What's funny is you are attributing support for his actions to me when I haven't even given a stance on the topic. I will as soon as you are willing to answer my questions. Refresher course: 1) What's more important to you, the Senate majority or screwing Bernie Sanders over? 2) Why do you think it was okay for the DNC to do everything they could to get rid of Bernie as an opponent to their chosen candidate, but it's not okay for Bernie to do everything he can to ensure he keeps his Senate seat and continues to caucus with the Democrats? This has nothing to do with me or my view on the topic. All I've talked about to this point is the hypocrisy in your stance on this topic.
-
I'm saying turnabout is fair play, you know, like you tried here. Care to answer the original questions?
-
You're upset that a Democrat isn't getting a nomination against Bernie to draw enough votes from him to make him vulnerable to a Republican? So what you're saying is you don't really care as much about those majorities as you claim to if it'll screw Bernie over and you don't like when the major parties' tactics are done back to them?

Any idea when this week? I've been stalking that page for the past month.

Speaking of Fangraphs grades, does anyone know when their 2018 version of this is coming out?

You confused OBP with BA. His current slash line in Birmingham is .328/.360/.608, which seems promotion worthy to me.

Right, that deserves to be pulled. Doesn't mean he hasn't been excessive in his use of this tactic for most of the season. -

Castillo Is a veteran C. They're not known for their speed. He kind of fits into your second category, there. I understand wanting to get fundamentals in place and right, but he doesn't seem like the guy to do it with. I didn't see the play, so maybe it was bad and he should've been pulled, but you do this with the young guys that are going to be around. -

Disagree. Players like these don't become available often for a reason. They're franchise changers. Harper and Machado both know this, so they're likely to both go where the most money is, period. -

Am I the only one that thinks this is stupid and that he's going to get (or may have already gotten (Avi)) someone injured doing this?
