  1. The highest-priced club box seat will be $54 for "regular'' games and $65 for prime games, which include Opening Day, night games and selected series during the season. Bleacher seats will cost $30 for regular games and $40 for prime games. There also will be six lower-cost "value'' games, with the highest box seat to cost $34 and a bleacher seat $15. http://www.suntimes.com/output/cubs/cst-spt-cub19.html Still cheap compared to Fenway though http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/bo...ing_pricing.jsp
  2. I don't think North will be on the White Sox games full time BUT I expect he will be in the booth for home games. Infinity brass in New York was pleased with the way he and Farmer sounded in Houston. Infinity plans to include Mad Dog on Mets home games and if it works in New York, Infinity will not think twice about doing it in Chicago. It is all about boosting the ratings of the morning show. I shudder what Infinity has planned for the Red Sox in 2007 when they take over from WEEI
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 07:06 AM) Speaking of Hockey, what's happened to your team Florida Kap? They've fallen right off the rails. In all my years of watching hockey I have never heard the Boston crowd boo as long and as loudly as they did Thursday night. Jacobs and Sinden promised the fans a Stanley Cup contender and what we got is a team that would lose in the AHL. No skating, standing around, pass first....it's called Bruins....
  4. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) Where'd you here this? It would make sense though. We only played 12 playoff games. The ALCS and World Series games for the Red Sox amounted to 11. All they'd have to do is add 1 more game to the package to include all 3 series. Anyways, if this is true, this thing will be in my hands the day it comes out. friend works at A&E which puts the sets together.
  5. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) i'm going to buy every DVD that comes out anyways, My understanding is the set coming out in March will have the complete games of all 3 series. Boston didn't include the Anaheim series last year because the ALCS went 7 and there was little drama in the ALDS. When MLB offered the complete Boston set, they were hoping to sell 1,500 because of the cost. At last count they have sold 65,000 of them
  6. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) Off memory ( a bad one sometimes) I thought KW was up after this coming season but I don't really know. Lets hope Wilder gets it. He deserves a look and you should root for organization guys to get a chance to lead elsewhere even if selfishly you want them to stay Wilder was interviewed on WEEI last night and I was impressed. The Boston media reports this morning that it was Wilder who convinced Williams that Jenks was ready to be the closer and they didn't need to make a trade for one. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/reds...rch_relaunched/
  7. Chicago White Sox World Series Exhibit South Side Sweep Opens at Museum Artifacts from Club’s First Championship Since 1917 on Display Through October 2006 Chicago White Sox World Series Exhibit South Side Sweep Opens at Museum
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Of course...do we do thinks any less. Soxtalk.com, 1st attack an ump..than post. from Thursday's New York Post which is never wrong with facts http://www.nypost.com/seven/11172005/news/...lnews/31437.htm
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) There are minor league parks better then Fenway. Many.. The Jake is one of the best parks in all of baseball. The WORST ballpark of them all was in Buffalo The Natural was filmed there
  10. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) Note to self...holiday gift ideas for Steff...Road trip to Fenway and Shea... Fenway is the best MLB stadium east of the Hudson River The 3 worst parks I was ever in have been retired. Stade Olympique in Montreal and The Mistake on the Lake in Cleveland and The Vet in South Philadelphia. I have been told that the Kingdome was the worst of them all.
  11. I can not think of a better invention to help displaced baseball fans than slingbox. Very simply if you have access to a cable box back in Chicago ( or whatever your hometown is ) you can get full access to local programming anywhere in the world. It means you can always see the White Sox TV feed, even the games on Channel 26. Since CompUSA and Best Buy now sell it, it must be 100 legal. more info http://www.slingmedia.com/
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) Wrong. I was in the red seats on Saturday and the ones right behind them on Sunday in front of the poles in the 2nd row. And it wasn't just about the seats. The entire place was s***... again - for the third time... in my opinion. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Try Yankee Stadium sometime. Believe me I wanted the new Fenway Park after seeing Camden Yards but now it won't happen. Fenway has become a theme park.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) I was in comp'd tickets behind home plate. The bathrooms were sick, the "concourse" was a nasty mess, the vendors were unorganized, the grazing area outside was filthy. Don't get me started on the seats themselves. It's a s***hole. MO. ahhh the infamous Section 18 upper grandstand seats that are used for comps since they don't sell season tickets there as those seats are used as a press box during the post season. Those ARE the among the worst seats in the park because of the overhang, screen, and the crowded concession areas behind those seats. The wooden grandstand seats are not nice if you more than 5'8" and 150 lbs. It is something they refuse to address and I suspect it is because putting in plastic seats would reduce the number of seats per row. Fenway overall is still better than 1060 West Addison.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) They need to try harder then. When we were there in August it was disgusting. I don't know where you were in the park in August but generally the pace has been very clean since the new owners took over
  15. The New York media not impressed with A-Fraud's MVP Bill Gallo NY Daily News
  16. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- NFL owners voted Wednesday to tentatively award Kansas City a Super Bowl, largely as a tribute to owner Lamar Hunt, who gave the game its name. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...5111601522.html
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) So what happens when a whole crowd starts throwing things? Like happened after the ARod/Slap play where they had to call extra security onto the field and clean it up? Rikers Island is a big place or just turn the Stadium into a jail
  18. NEW YORK --Overzealous sports fans who pitch trash at a New York Yankee or spit on a New York Knick will face jail time and up to $25,000 in fines under a law passed Wednesday by the City Council to crack down on rowdy spectators http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/arti...on_sports_fans/
  19. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) I agree that Fenway was very dirty, seats hard to sit in and the bathrooms were awful but my most disappointing experience of Fenway was they actually did the wave when I was there. BOO!!!! We hate it too then we have Sweet Caroline to explain
  20. from New York Post http://www.nypost.com/sports/31351.htm
  21. Yankee Stadium maybe the dirtest park in MLB but it was interesting when the Red Sox went to Wrigley last June, the Boston media was horrified at how dirty and smelly Wrigley was. The Red Sox at least TRY to make Fenway better, the Tribune Company puts up a net to catch falling concrete
  22. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) No offense, but Fenway's a bit of a dump as well. It was, but it has improved the last 3 years..... but they have to replace the wooden seats in the grandstand...they fine if you are a munchkin
  23. Tropicana wins with Shea a close second
  24. I like Ned from his time at the Cubs. I hope he knows whatkind of mess he is getting into with Parking Lot Frank and his wife. http://www.dailynews.com/sports/ci_3220698
  25. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) My first game of the season will be a Chisox-Bosox game in July. Are you the same Fenway from WSI? Either way, welcome to the board! That's moi The 4 games in July between the Red and White Sox at The Cell will be a very good preview of the fall. Then when the White Sox come to Boston, Neil Diamond will be singing "Sweet Caroline" LIVE at Fenway. (Sunday the 14th of August which maybe moved to 8 PM for ESPN)
