Yep and it's obvious both Getz and Will are on the same page here. Wouldn't surprise me to see the same lineup again today as previous two. We are trying to win, development for a guy like Acuna doesn't really matter a hoot at this point. He's clearly a backup at best without a massive true talent jump and in his mid 20s unlikely. Same with Kelenic but Kelenic has caught some lighting in a bottle and we can just ride it until it fades.

I think the only reason they have Acuna on the roster is he's the primary backup at CF and SS. Honestly as the 26th man you can do worse. Just don't play him more than once a week.

At this point Chase has earned the starting job at 2B. His defense plays much better there than SS and he does enough with the bat to be a starter.

Royals fans really hate their lineups against LHP. Nice to finally be on the other end of that crap.

Also saving money seems way over rated by the media. There's a lot of variables involved trying to get cute. Controlling 1,1 means taking the best player imo, not trying to grab a guy at 32 or something that should have gone at 23. Who really cares if you miss on the first pick that you got "value" in the following rounds.

Only way this makes sense: Angels send: Mike Trout, Kikuchi, 50 million cash White Sox send: Benitendi and two of whoever they want other than the top 5 ORG prospects. Sox would be taking on about 100 million in salary spread over the next 4 years. I'd certainly consider it. Trout slots into LF going forward to limit the wear on his body.

Sox are in a 3 way tie for 10th with 5.3 position player fWAR. 11th in wrC+ at 102. Defense continues to play well, now -6 RAA as a team good enough for 15th. Pitching fWAR is 17th at 3.4.

some bone headed mistakes aside kelenic has been solid and it's nice to role players step up with the stars on various nights. I hate to jinx it but Vargas Colson Mune being a projected yearly 10-14 WAR is a very solid young position player core.

Keep it how it is. This is the rare case when a 5% better optimal outcome isn't worth the loss of sporting intrique and honing of skills. The challenge should be a skill.

in 113 MLB games with 460 PA Colson: wRC+ 130 Fielding runs above avg: 14 fWAR: 4.4. So a cool 6 fWAR player over a full season, OK.

all his learning is at mlb level now. he's been fine. managed to at least salvage a decent start tonight and offense picked him up. we have nobody else to replace him that makes any sense.
