At this point in their career there isn't a single GM in baseball picking Swanson ROS this year or any other year after. That said, Swanson has had a great career and if Colson puts up 29 fWAR as a Sox (Swanson's career total) I'm good with that.

Man I was flipping through some old drafts last night and the Sox have drafted pretty damn well outside of Vaughn and maybe that was more on the development side anyways. We've gotten more studs out of the first round than 2/3 of the teams in the last 6 or so years. In 20 and 21 after whiffing on Vaughn they got Garrett and Colson as their FRP and both guys are absolute studs. Then they got Noah in 23 and Gonzo in 24. Even Gonzo is looking like he might be a useful player now. Really great top of the draft picks whatever else Hahn was doing he had a good draft method going.

Warmer weather will certainly help. Everything feels a bit better in a 75 degree humid day than a 55 degree one.

They will want to see how his leg and body responds to back to back games catching I'd think. He missed pretty much 90% of spring conditioning as well so I would also think they want him running the bases in anger a bit and throwing as well. Maybe he's back next weekend.

Acuna is fine as the backup at both SS/CF. We have a pretty god damn good thing going here. As you said replacing Beni with someone should be done sooner rather than later.
