He was another dumpster dive for a .5 WAR player. 3.7 million I think. Just more money lit on fire. There's some positives around the club but the FA process remains a complete dumpster fire. They basically wasted 10 million between him and Vaughn. They could have probalby signed a solid closer for 10 million or so and gotten a handful more wins by now.

Meidroth, Tauchmann, Vargas, Beni, Robert, Palacios, Quero, Sosa, Rojas. Roster doesn't make any sense to me honestly. Should have just kept Elko as the every day 1B. Just cut Rojas.

Oh well, it's a bad team. At least we scored some runs.

Right now with Meidroth looking so good and Vargas some of the stink is off Getz. Don't get me wrong, he's still made some absolutely awful moves, but if you nail a couple trades, well suddenly there's some green shoots and it makes up for the stinkers. Sosa now officially with a wRC+ of 100. Kid hits the ball hard. He even took a walk today. Defense is a WIP but he has range and if he hits league average he's an easy regular for his career at 2B.

Another crazy one, and in one less game as well:

We had 8 walks. We hit for some power and had some 2 out RBIs. Wilson battled as the emergency starter. Defense is a WIP but whatever, another solid game. We are making the Rangers look like teams usually make us look, whooping them at bat to bat. I'll admit that right now the team is better true talent than any point last year, even with Crochet. We've replaced 4-5 smoking craters with average big league players. The staff has done a good job squeezing everything they can out of the rotation so far. If the offense picks it up a bit the bullpen can give up some runs and won't matter as much. Let's hope we can keep showing improvement maybe get to like 30-50 by the end of June, just play a solid stretch of baseball.

Sosa has .5 fWAR in the last week.
