  1. If it's OOPT I'm meeting his arb number every time. If nothing else he's a nice trade kicker.
  2. We have a very enviable young catching duo. With both versatile no reason to move either anytime soon imo.
  3. We need to keep this up and I'll give Getz credit. Young brought in kids hitting HR as solid defenders is what we've needed for a long time.
  4. I gotta say I'm happily shocked Shane Smith is pitching well again in the dog days of the season. Sox are being smartly aggro with him it seems.
  5. Rarely seen a guy like Sosa try and compeltely refresh his approach late season. I don't mind it.
  6. Good start. I have to say I'd love to avoid 100 losses. Would signal a little bit of positive momentum imo.
  7. Monday night, Royals at Sox week before Labor Day not even PT Barnum could sell that s%*#.
  8. I thought that but Caulfield doesn't even really count. Imagine his social credit.
  9. As I said in his thread, no problem with it. This is a marathon not a sprint and he's been playing hard.
  10. Sox need to go 16-16 to avoid 100 losses. Shane Smith on the bump for Sox. Chase, Vargas, Quero, Sosa, Robert, Mead, Taylor, Lee, Baldwin. Will said we'll see the lefties later in the game.
  11. We have nothing even close to a MLB ready CF prospect. It's 20 million dollars. That's the cost of an average regular these days. Pickup the damn option. If they don't I will have a hard time being a fan next year.
  12. another day off for him, I don't mind it.
  13. Robert seems like a guy that takes failure personally. The best athletes are just those that can shake it off but even in pro sports those guys makeup maybe 1/4 or so of the total. The rest of these guys have self doubt every day, just like the rest of us. A guy like Meidroth I don't think feels any pressure. He's always been the kid that had to do everything perfect at his size. A guy like Robert however you can dream on, and that pressure can deflate performance.
  14. He's hitting 278 with RISP. If he hit like that all the time he's right back to 5 WAR. His "clutch" isn't an issue.
  15. Funny One Dog story, first game my mom went to, I was about 8, during warmups a guy was standing so still for so long in the OF she asked my dad why there was a statue on the field. It was Lance Johnson.
  16. He looks refreshed. I wonder if the weight of being labelled a "bust" and the almost certain trade was hindering his performance. It's a rate stat, but he's been on pace for about 4 fWAR going on 6 weeks now. Basically he's gone from replacement to almost on the verge of a decent season at 1.3. He'll probably finish around 1.8 which while poor for his talent, certainly isn't a horrible effort and is worth picking up his option off.
  17. His raw power reminds me of both Carlos Lee and Belle. Q had to work for a lot his bombs. Colston seems to prefer the no doubters.
  18. Bro we need like 25 WAR from pitching. We are projected to have like 5. Even if you sign two TOR types for 20 million AAV we ain't even close to a WC.
  19. only 5th worst RD now. It's too bad we won't spend 40+ million as it sure as hell would get us closer to 80 wins than not.
