6/12 GT - White Sox vs. Dodgers (6:40pm CST)

Featured Replies

After two huge wins over the Braves, our beloved 1st place White Sox were almost subjected to certain defeat after @ron883 broke gamethread rules. Thankfully a new thread appeased the baseball gods enough to bring upon storms & tornados and result in a postponement. As such, the Sox enter this challenging series against the Dodgers with momentum still on their side.

Tomorrow’s game will feature Anthony Kay vs. Roki Sasaki. After a solid May, Kay looks to recover from a disaster of a start against the Phillies. The Dodgers won’t make that easy as they currently lead the MLB with a team best 120 wRC+ and sixth overall against LHP at 108. The one saving grace is Ohtani exited tonight’s game with an injury and it seems like there is a real chance he misses tomorrow’s game.

As for Sasaki, while his full season figures are pretty ordinary, he’s been on an absolute heater over his past four starts posting an 1.87 FIP and 2.24 xERA. The Sox will certainly pose a challenge as they are currently 5th in baseball with a 107 wRC+ and have been on an upward trajectory as of late. Since May 1st, the Sox have posted a 116 wRC+ and that’s jumped to 124 since Murakami went out (with a 141 wRC+ against RHP).

On paper, you probably give the edge for tomorrow’s game to the Dodgers. However, the Sox are 21-11 at home and have won 7 straight. And with an unplanned day off, Venable will have a rested bullpen and should be able to have a short hook with Kay. Gun to head, I think the Sox’s offense keeps on slugging and pulls off a 5-4 win.

Let’s fucking go!!!

I can't wait for the Dodgers to crush the white Sox here. Chicago White Sox/OP needs to be taught a lesson.
