I think he tried to make it “unboring” through being himself, which is fine, but most people who follow the game of baseball don’t follow it because they think it’s boring. But I doubt that’s probably what Ramirez was referring to with his disrespect comment…

Shitty weekend to be a bears and sox fan. Bummer, had the potential to be the exact opposite with an ALDS clincher and a win at Lambeau.

Honestly, having those ump cams and watching pitches come in from an umpire perspective gave me a whole new appreciation for hitting the baseball (and also confirmed for me that we need full time ABS to get 100% accuracy on balls and strikes). I have no idea how these hitters hit these balls. And then you throw in breaking pitches like with what Gavin Williams has, it’s literally impossible for the human brain to make the distinction between a face high fastball and a 12-6 curve in the dirt when the ball is breaking just a few feet away from the plate after the hitter needs to make the decision to swing if they are going to hit it if it’s a 100mph fastball. You can see it too with this pitch overlay technology that is absolutely fascinating to me. Idk how this get fixed. Or if it’s something that even needs to be fixed? But how do you as a hitter adjust to that. Idk. Also makes sense why sign stealing is happening more often. Too damn hard to hit the ball.

I really would like to hear what Will or someone from the org has to say about this. Someone should ask them about how or why all these strikeouts all of a sudden happened. We all can speculate but I’d love to hear it from the horse’s mouth.

What it boils down to is we walked way too many of them, which is just terrible considering they have a horrible hitting team, and we struck out way too much obviously. Our offense looked like a high school team facing major league pitching. Our hitting coach should be fired.

It’s why no one offered him a better contract than the Sox did. They saw his swing and miss game in Japan.

That was the worst offensive performance I’ve ever seen. And I’ve watched a lot of baseball games.
