  1. Cash considerations three times this year? Going out. We're so back boys. We're going to own every .1 WAR 30 year old reliever in MLB.
  2. He's dead to me. Liked him once and then soured as his teams flailed and he kept up the corporate speak about "competitive offers" and blah blah blah. If you don't like the budget you have, just resign, don't try and make excuses in the press. He must be angling for another job in baseball if he's doing this interview. Doubt he got paid, the exposure is the pay.
  3. wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round...
  4. What an ass whooping today.
  5. Vargas playing a confident 3B.
  6. Rojas was a completely worthless signing.
  7. Now this is familiar territory.
  8. Not sure what this has to do with the pope but it's fairly entertaining. a time capsule for sure, makes me feel a bit young which is always good.
  9. He seems to be enjoying playing again and of course that's easier when you're making winning plays. That ball down the 3B line he could fumble and you never know suddenly with two on what could go wrong. Baldwin with the big crack late -- liked that even tho we couldn't pay it off. If you're going to be a bad defender most nights as a utility guy at least be able to crack one once and awhile. On the next good Sox team we'll need a guy like Baldwin and never really mind having them around even if sometimes it's maddening on a bad team when they play too much.
  10. He'll tick up to .3 fWAR after tonight. Raised his wRC+ to 88 from 78. It's nice to see him take a step forward as part of the youngish IF. Nobody seems to have star potential out of them but at least they are young players that are competing and holding their own.
  11. He's certainly had a sustained solid month of play on both sides. He's looking closer to the guy the Dodgers thought was worth calling up at 22 then the one that they traded away. I give him a lot of credit because everybody talks about having a transformative off season few if any guys ever do it. He did, he's a different player. He still has a long way to go to be considered even an average regular but just looking like a below average one is fine for now.
  12. The AL central becoming the best division in the AL since the balanced schedule went into play is one of the more "wtf" moments in recent team sports imo. Nobody in a million years saw that coming.
  13. Nice game from Martin, we hit for some power and had some good ABs. A bad Reds team but whatever, we're playing some decent baseball the last week. We keep this up we might f*** around and win 58 games as @flavum noted in the game thread. Extend Getz?
  14. suicide would work here.
  15. good rip but man late on 89 against a LHP?
  16. I mean come on he went back what 10 feet? He was positioned perfectly MLB LF should make that play 9/10 right?
  17. We need to end the Baldwin can play most positions thing. He can't.
  18. That was A+ baseball from the oppo hitting to the play off the carom on the wall to the tag to the slide. Nice to enjoy watching them again.
  19. Vaughn's hot streaks consist of 1/4 with an RBI and an XBH. Not enough.
