Yea and with the added juice of his debut you don't really need any other variables that could contribute to injury or a poor start. Waiting around for the opening weather wise isn't ideal prep either.

The Sox have once again done the seemingly impossible: -.4 fWAR so far from position players, good enough for dead last. I can't even begin to say how dreadful that is coming off the prior two seasons. Not only have we made zero progress towards fielding a competitive team, you could argue that the team is in a worse position than it was entering 2024 -- even with the 1,1 luck. There's nothing to really trade, there's nothing in the farm that indicates we have the 30 WAR needed to get back to competitive and there's nothing indicating JR will cede control prior to 2029. Oh, and there's probably a lockout incoming. Great vibes all around.
