  1. He's a solid 3rd starter elite 4th. Not an ace, control problems even when he's got his best stuff that we didn't see from Sale and so far Garrett. That's really what separates the elite from the good, having that great stuff but also having pinpoint fastball command almost every start. Rodon when healthy had it more often than not as well.
  2. Andrew Vaughn has negative fWAR for his career. Nothing about him screams "high floor". A 750 OPS going forward would mean a replacement level player or .5 fWAR at best. I'm glad he's hot, but he needs to hit ALOT to matter. Not a 750 OPS, but like an 850 OPS. That would be a solid regular at 1B. Not only is he "just" a 1B, he's by many metrics a bottom 5 or even league worst defensive 1B. He has no range, he's 5-10 in cleats, and his reflexes are poor. He needs to hit, and hit a lot.
  3. Not really sure this is a strong response to "nobody is trading for Andrew Vaughn". Clearly he was speaking a bit rhetorically and if you want to trade Vaughn for what essentially amounts to PTBNL like returns, well, that's no good. At that point you just hold onto him and hope like hell in 2025 he's an average regular and maybe you can actually get a real prospect return for him.
  4. Someone posted that those commercials are a cuckhold fantasy and now everytime I see one I can't unsee it. FML.
  5. It's weird man I think there is some law about it. I bought two from the vendor when I walked in and she cracked both of them. I'm like, I didn't really want them both cracked but whatever. In general the transformation of the ball park into a revenue maximizing enterprise and circus seems complete. The piped in music was so loud in between innings I couldn't even talk to the guy next to me without shouting.
  6. 122 wRC+ against RHP this year might get us something but yea, these are guys that in OOTP the AI would try and send you back 2x the salary and then like a 4th OF and a 45 FV utility guy prospect. And the AI wouldn't be that wrong.
  7. Trust me I'm at the forefront of it. You get DINK couples in their 20s making 350k a year that think absolutely nothing of tipping 30% on top of a 5 cup of coffee. I'm over it personally, I just stopped tipping on takeout. We have 21 dollars an hr min wage now, if you want to pay your employees more, just raise prices, I'm not going to be tipping for pouring 50 cents worth of bean juice into a cup.
  8. Got any quotes? I mean, who wouldn't believe it? The vendors have to pissed at how bad the team is, that cuts into their tips. At T-Mobile I was being flashed the reader with 15/20/25% on every purchase. I didn't tip, but I know a lot of people feel that pressure and will when the employee is right there in front of them. I would wonder if like most places only a fraction of that tip goes directly to the employee as well. T-Mobile vendor told me that get pooled and the vendor takes a cut as well.
  9. Gavin and Vaughn would get like an team's 12-15 prospect (so at best a B- guy, more likely C+) and then some lotto ticket 18 year old that 1/100 amounts to nothing. Vaughn might not even get that. If he stays hot for another month maybe. He's still at the end of the day a a horrible defensive 1B that hits righty and has a career wRC+ of 102 and negative .5 fWAR. He's not exactly good, even when he manages to hit league average he's barely replacement thanks to his defense.
  10. Sure but the article is pay walled and Caulfield quoted nothing. What are we supposed to be discussing here? We all know Wilder set us back years in Latin America.
  11. US Open >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> White Sox baseball.
  12. I've heard it sucks ass. Phoenix in general this time of year, no thanks. Did it once. That was enough. Anyways, I'm sure this game thread is going to have like 5 posts total.
  13. Hope in one hand s%*# in the other see which one fills up faster. We do have some good chips but getz won't be the man to get the most for them. But, here is hoping.
  14. I'd support the Saudis buying out your account.
  15. I'd clear the entire deck other than Bannister and Katz. Those guys have earned chances, everybody else has not, coaches and management.
  16. Boy those vets on the Sox sure are getting it done with the glove! If you're scoring at home we currently have the worst LF, SS and RF anc C in MLB. Fangraphs and this ranking both hate Lee's defense, which I guess is 'cause framing?
  17. lol Beni right back into it at 5th.
  18. He was cheating on fastballs at least the last two years in Chicago. He was talented enough to make it work, But like Kong, when these DH types age, and they aren't on super juice, the bottom will fall out fast.
  19. He made generational wealth and now gets to get paid for going home. Oh well.
  20. Sign him Getz!
  21. wow, I'm actually impressed by vaughn.
  22. That's an insane swing against a LHP. 415 to dead center? On a pitch middle out? Wow.
