Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Mariners are having a pretty shit offseason as well imo.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
That is a very white sox deal on the face. Overpaying a guy who might just slide back to a 1 WAR player or even worse.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
We're a Luis Robert torn thumb or strained hammy away from being in a dogfight. Didn't have to be this way.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I speak only for myself but this is about as down as I could possibly be on a club projected to win the division.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I tried listening to his pod once or twice, it was shockingly stupid for a guy that spends so much time covering the team and making it a public persona. But, the same is true of his boss Jim.

This has the potential to be a legendary Soxtalk meme.

I honestly don't think he's an upgrade of Engel. ZIPS thinks they are about equal per PA FWIW.

Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Joc isn't an upgrade on what they already have, so it would have been another shit move.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
...as there's a deep drive to left...

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
That's what I'm thinking. Even if they don't win it all I can see him saying enough. He's got generational wealth, he's got an MVP, he's played in the playoffs. He's accomplished quite a bit. He's a Sox legend and will get a statue. If he wants to spend more time with his family who can blame him and it might honestly help the Sox if he decides to retire anyways.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
Could be but the impression I get is that he's thinking about his family and is tired of baseball a bit, maybe climbing the mountain so many times but not quite summiting has gotten to him. Quite the contrast from "I'll sign myself" a couple years ago.

Will Abreu be a White Sox in 2023?
- Spring Training thread
Wow. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of his future either in Chicago or elsewhere. Sounds sorta like a guy tired of the long hours in the offseason in your mid 30s to keep trying to play 130 plus games. I feel that quote deserves a thread. I'll make one.- Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
God this is fucking boring and lame.- Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Sox have a horrific track record of trading young cost controlled players too soon.- Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
Again: why would you sign a 1.5 WAR aging FA in order to jettison a 1.5 WAR younger, could still improve player you have under team control?- Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
it's going to cost more per WAR to improve a 92 win team than a 75 one almost every time. That's just where we are at. Yes it's "expensive" but winning is expensive.- Offseason Part 2 - Lets the Rumors & Action Begin
I said that a couple days ago. If that doesn't get it done, then fuck it, but it should. - Spring Training thread
