  1. I scared of Hahn in the bargain bin FA market. He's proven that he's weak there. Rather would see them keep their powder dry for 2020 and beyond.
  2. Avi has been really bad this year. He's been hurt, and he's been bad.
  3. lol, is that Abreu playing 1B for the Yankees?
  4. JFC what an absolutely awful lineup Renteria constructed tonight.
  5. Neither. I'd cut bait on Avi and give all the reps to Eloy next year. Delmonico starts in LF, Palka and Davidson are your DH platoon. Leury is your 4th OF and supersub. Jose is traded. My position on Avi and Jose is pretty much "time to move on". There are younger, better players coming through the system, and they are much cheaper as well.
  6. Given his problems it's going to take a lot longer than a hot month to convince me he's really improving. That said, it's obvious that whatever mental and physical problems he was going through earlier in the year, most of them related to his delivery, appear to have abated. Finished the article, Sullivan makes a pretty good case for the mechanical changes with his arm slot having a big impact on his stuff. I like it. Maybe the Sox have finally figured out something that will work consistently for him.
  7. Funnily enough the Sox had one of the best "FIP isn't everything" guys -- MB. There was some evidence that MB's ability to outperform his peripherals on a yearly basis was at least partially based on his incredible fielding.
  8. Yea I like Smith as a backup but right now he's the odd guy out, the Sox actually have pretty good depth at C.
  9. Even better, he looks like a pretty good value at those prices and terms.
  10. No way they should try and trade him, they have a club option right? Have to think they could get a decent prospect for him.
  11. I think it's time. The winning lately has got a good vibe going in the clubhouse, even Yoan is smiling a bit. Time to get this kid in Chicago and start building the next playoff roster.
  12. 6pm start in Chicago, 4pm for us west coasters.
  13. Go figure the one position the Sox would find a useful starter would be catcher, the hardest to find. Well, I'm not complaining. If he works his ass off this offseason on his receiving he could be looking at a potential ASG appearance next year. He's always had a really good approach at the plate and its bearing fruit.
  14. I'm still worried about Rodon's stuff long term, but he's making it work with what he's got. Continued command on his fastball will be key if he's going to have problems with his offspeed pitches.
  15. that was pretty slick. Yolmer with the pick and pivot and Yoan just rifled that ball, had him by two steps.
  16. jesus not even close, too bad the Sox don't have a good bullpen.
  17. Rodon reminds me somewhat of Buehrle.
  18. well, not good, but watchable at least.
  19. wow, what team is the White Sox?
  20. I cancelled my MLB.tv, you're welcome. I'm a streamer now, yikes.
  21. You don't get where Yoan has without some talent in the bones. Kid needs to just keep grinding. Baby steps. I keep repeating it but he hasn't cratered, he could have cratered this year, offensively and defensively but he didn't. The strikeouts are ugly but he has stayed afloat.
  22. Look's like the proverbial "fire" has been little under Yoan's ass. As an old meathead, that gets me a little fired up. COME ON KID. Go Sox, this is fun.
