  1. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 29, 2015 -> 10:23 PM) He was out and ump looked right at it WTF. It looks to me like there's space between his foot and the bag but then we don't get all the angles apparently. This will be closer than you guys think.
  2. I was all set to compliment Melky on that catch and then he threw it like he was up against the wall.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:54 PM) If Soto had Flowers number of at bats he would have way better numbers. There is zero evidence of this. He's been bad this year and bad for years. Get him his usual chemicals back and we'll talk.
  4. QUOTE (Condor13 @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) Pinch hit Soto for flowers I don't know why people keep acting like Soto is anything other than "Worse with the bat than Flowers"
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ May 29, 2015 -> 09:07 PM) and those 2 were what number when they were picked?? 3rd (Toews) and 1st (Kane)
  6. So far I'd rather have Eaton up here than Cabrera.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 29, 2015 -> 07:33 PM) How dumb of me. I am sure Robin totally blew off the training staff and just figured he couldn't hurt it more by playing on it which is the lie he tried to sell us. Thank God you are aroumd to call him out. And of course, if his training staff said "sure he's ok to go", he has absolutely no right to use his own judgment and say "naw, let's give him a day or two until it's all the way". Managers aren't allowed to use Judgment.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 29, 2015 -> 07:10 PM) I actually witnessed one fan interaction with Bill Wirtz and had one myself. Bill was walking in front of the Board of Trade about 15 years ago when a guy just got in his face screaming at him as Bill continued to walk down Jackson. I was torn between thinking it was funny and thinking it was pathetic, but it is something I don't think I will ever forget. And omce I was in a United Center bar befor a game about the time plasma TVs were coming out. It wasn't high def yet but sure enough Bill shows up and starts talkimg to my buddy and me about how these TVs are goimg to make watching hockey on TV so much better. He was right on about that one. Which is a particular shame because I'm at best a very slight hockey fan since he wouldn't let me watch hockey while growing up.
  9. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 29, 2015 -> 07:09 PM) Haha "Somebody has to hang! We demand blood!" Robin Ventura: The buck stops with everyone but him.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 29, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) How is that? Kept running him out there for a week after the initial injury, he barely hit for that week, had to be pulled from several games, aggravated the injury while playing more than once and now they've basically shut him down for the better part of a week because of how many different times he aggravated it. He will have 2 starts in the last 9 games after today. The alternative, taking him out to rest the day or two days after he got hurt might have prevented the aggravations, and if not, putting him on the DL or shutting him down for several games sooner would have gotten him back to normal quicker. He's been dealing with this longer than he would have had he been shut down initially or even been put on the DL initially and he was ineffective while he was trying to play through it. The correct move was to sit him at least for the day after he was first pulled from a game, maybe the 2 days afterwards. Instead we've made this a 2 week event already.
  11. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 29, 2015 -> 06:02 PM) So, whatsup with Avi? Seems this was handled poorly. Duh.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 29, 2015 -> 05:41 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 1h1 hour ago From White Sox notes: Sox outscored 41-14 first inning, 41 the most in baseball. Sox have been scored on in first in 10 of last 18 games. He didn't note that the 14 is the worst in baseball.
  13. QUOTE (LDF @ May 29, 2015 -> 04:42 PM) and if there are not afraid of the fans. then why come out with there press release on anything. there is a strange contradictions there. You can and should do everything you can to attract fans but you can't let what they want determine what is best for the franchise. Really simple. If you think they want a certain player...they will want a winning team more.
  14. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 29, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) But don't you guys get it that KW & RH, brace for it, WANT Jerry in on most of it? They all like each other and like working together and have put damn good on-paper teams on the field almost every year since 2005. Players have sucked for the most part, it stinks. Peavy & Dunn crippled the franchise's chances of winning. Arguably good aggressive moves that didn't pan out. TCQ breaking his hand ruined us for years thinking he would regain his form as our beast. Rios...mercy. I dislike that some of you want to blame people. Who are you to judge? It's just a silly game. If "arguably good" moves consistently fail, the right move would be to change the philosophy and decision making process that led to those moves. Instead we keep trying them over and over and over and somehow we're stunned that 2015 looks exactly like every other time we tried and failed with this set of moves. Some would call that "insanity".
  15. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ May 29, 2015 -> 04:25 PM) Astros lose Feldman for 6 weeks. Wonder how much more they will be looking at shark now probably no more unless they can sweep us because hes back before deadline and were not at throw in the towel point yet.
  16. QUOTE (SCCWS @ May 29, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) Who said this team should be " very well above .500". Many posters in the prediction thread saw this team as a .500 team and so did Vegas. The post I quoted said "if this list of players were performing as they should then this team would be well above .500".
  17. Continuing our nationwide theme of illegal leaks out of sealed indictments and grand jury proceedings:
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 29, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) If someone said before his start he would give you 6 innings and the Sox would be down 2 when he left, I would have taken it. His overall numbers were pretty brutal, but he did keep the team in the game, and it was his debut, and he's not exactly a top 50 prospect. There is something to build on. Kept velocity the whole time, some pitches got away with him but overall had good movement, his offspeed stuff was actually better than I expected (when I saw him a year ago he literally threw nothing offspeed until the 6th inning). He's not going to be a #1 starter but there's stuff there to work with.
  19. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 29, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) http://dailysignal.com/2015/05/14/federal-...ce-store-owner/ https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20150511/...se-it-can.shtml Stories like this one all the time. Mostly on deposits, however. Why the feds need to know what you do with your own money when you withdraw it is a mystery to me. He should have told them to go pound sand, it's his money he can do what he wants. Unless it is illegal to withdraw your money... Those count as "Civil Asset Forfeiture". Different issue to me. Genuinely surprised to hear people on this side speak out vehemently against parts of the Patriot Act.
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 29, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) His start was less than what we expected or for that matter he did. Could have been worse and maybe next time he will be rid of the butterflies I have zero clue how anyone would look at Chris Beck's first start and say it was "less than what we expected".
