  1. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ May 3, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) I like this post. The problems run much deeper than RV. He's just a symptom at the surface. This team hasn't developed a position player since Joe Crede. How is that possible? How is that accepted? Well, I think we actually have, we did develop the Twins starting SS for example. Ditto the A's.
  2. Can balls hit more of our players in the butt? It can't hurt to try.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 04:33 PM) How many homers have the Sox allowed now this year? 2 today right? That would make 22 on the year.
  4. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 3, 2015 -> 04:29 PM) I would add Sale to the list and probably Q. I wouldn't, and I'd remove Abreu from that list.
  5. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 3, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) They aren't winning anything. This team doesn't have the talent to go on a run they will now need to put together. And that's not a huge knock on the Sox per say, I was personally excited for this team, but not because I thought they were going to be a powerhouse, but certainly a more exciting style of team and maybe sniff a playoff spot if things fell right. This was supposed to be a primer season for 2016 and 2017. That doesn't look to be the case so far, at all. With that said, if this team continues to fall on their face, maybe they do make a manager switch and bring on a veteran, have a good 2nd half and 2016 looks promising. Who knows. As I said before the season started...I don't think 2016 can possibly look promising. We spent a ton last offseason and needed to sell more tickets to make up for that. Otherwise, we were going to be working rookies in and clearing out the salary we wasted this season. Maybe we can "2012" this thing with a new manager and spirit, or we could pull off an upgrade by trading Robertson, but roster looks to take a step back and a step older next year to me.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) I see no possible defense for Ventura to keep his job after today. This is one of the worst Sox teams I've ever seen in every aspect. It's the worst I've seen since...well, 2013.
  7. We've found a way to score! just get hit!
  8. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) Hahn is smarter than anyone on this board. He knows the Sox problems. He probably can't get rid of RV without JR's approval. I still do not believe in the least they will remove him mid-season. They're not going to insult an organizational guy like that.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) I'm not laughing. I've never been so disappointed by a baseball team. There is no positive that will be taken from this year. This play is devastating for the entire franchise. I'm used to this level of disappointment. 2013 was the exact same setup. Lots of money spent, $120 million payroll, seemingly full roster you'd hope could improve on previous year, get on the field and its a clown show from the start.
  10. QUOTE (Jake @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) I wonder if Abreu is among the guys who have been sick Yes.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:12 PM) Love Hawk with the "We are a very good team playing very ball baseball." Until they prove me otherwise, we are an average team playing bad baseball. Stone doesn't believe him.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:08 PM) So who exactly will Boston give up for Sale? While he's sporting a 5.32 ERA?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 3, 2015 -> 03:05 PM) Hey, it's awesome we played for one run last inning Bah, they wouldn't have gotten 1 either way.
  14. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ May 3, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) I think Flowers' AB's will dwindle a bit with Soto, but yes, barring injury he has a CHANCE. Avi has a lot of work to do if he's going to get to 12 HR's. I'd like to think Melky could, but at this point last year, he had 4 HR's. He has 0 this year. His season looks more like 2013 than 2014. I notice how people spent the first week of the season saying "Soto's totally about to take over for Flowers" and now he's hitting .115.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ May 3, 2015 -> 02:22 PM) that is a great point, the other thing i wonder about is, his attitude, could he have saved his career without it? My guess is that losing that whole year and then struggling when he got back probably contributed a lot to the "attitude" thing. He was on the usual white sox fast track beforehand, you actually could have thought about him coming up during that season if he hadn't gotten hurt in the spring.
  16. Leadoff hitters slugging .818 against Danks this year before that hit.
  17. Sox have gone 300 at bats without a home run. These stats they're dropping are ridiculous.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 3, 2015 -> 02:09 PM) Then don't watch, This doesn't help your prediction of a big boost in attendance this year, FWIW.
  19. Hawk Says Abreu also not feeling well.
  20. The White Sox have had 1 leadoff base hit in 22 games.
  21. Will always wonder what his career would have been like without that leg injury.
