  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:58 PM) Had chance to bury them, and of course now they rally. Eaton is really killing the sox 2 outs on the basepaths hasn't helped either.
  2. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:47 PM) welp. rookies gonna rookie. How is that Micah's fault? The contact play was clearly on.
  3. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:41 PM) Maurer's hit... was it lucky? No, solid single up the middle, Mauer earned it.
  4. 2 of the 3 twins hitters this inning have backed up and raised their hands in the "I don't want to get hit by this" reaction on the first pitch they saw and had the ball go right down the middle of the plate.
  5. Holy hell that strikeout pitch unfair.
  6. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:32 PM) So i missed the first 5 outs of the game. How did Sale look to start? Looks like he's changing speeds on his fastball? He hit 96-97 several times in the first and he's also throwing something at around 90-92 that I honestly am not sure what to call it.
  7. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 02:32 PM) So i missed the first 5 outs of the game. How did Sale look to start? Looks like he's changing speeds on his fastball? He looked like Chris Sale. They were outgunned.
  8. "His ace right hander had given up 5 straight hits and surprisingly only given up 2 runs". Surprisingly Steve? You told us why it was ok to make that out yourself.
  9. Coulda had a 3 run lead, 2nd and 3rd, 1 out situation if not for stupid baserunning. Nice swing Alexei.
  10. clap clap clap avi. That would have been a run if Jose was on 2nd.
  11. The Hunter was completely outgunned.
  12. unhittable 96 mph high fastball strike pitch one. 2 pitches, 1 out.
  13. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 12, 2015 -> 12:38 PM) In a slightly more perfect world, right about now it would be breaking that this relapse occurred during a crazy night on the town with none other than Moreno and various other member's of LAA's front office. I don't like Hamilton, but this is absolute garbage coming from an idiot that certainly had some say in the clown contract that was drafted and slid across the table for him to sign. Again, the Angels offered that contract with the belief that if he did have a relapse, MLB's drug program would act in a certain way and offer them some degree of protection. That did not happen. This is a more complicated setup than people are admitting.
  14. I assume the reason I had to make this thread is that everyone else is finally exhaling and breathing after the last 4 days and nearly passing out.
  15. I also really like seeing a closer who struggled a bit in the spring do well in his first outing just to get it out of the way. Seen enough closers randomly struggle in their first couple save situations to be happy when a guy does well.
  16. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) Can they review if the lane is blocked? Here's the clause as it was written in 2014: The Umpire seems like he has to request it based on that?
  17. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 04:55 PM) Catcher didn't give him a lane. Should be a run! That's probably what Robin was arguing.
  18. Well Robertson, here's your first shot at earning that contract.
  19. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) He didn't need to do that though. Because the Sox gave him this job. And then they signed a bunch of RH guys for their bench who can play multiple positions who are the perfect guys to use as platoon partners with him.
  20. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 04:46 PM) I don't think we're able to sign LaRoche if we tell him right off the bat he's a platoon DH. He'll get his days off. And they'll be against lefties. If he's not willing to be a platoon DH then he could have taken less money somewhere else. That's what his role should be at this point in his career.
  21. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 04:44 PM) Laroche is being completely exposed against LHP early. Be nice if Robin used the pieces he has. When a lefty comes out of the pen in the 8th inning in a tie game with no one on, I probably wouldn't PH for LaRoche. Days like yesterday are when he should have been on the bench.
  22. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Apr 11, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) Samardzija really hasn't been bad today with the exception of the 2nd inning. Feels like he finally found a groove after the 3rd/4th inning or so. I do like Robin leaving him in for 110+ pitches when he's in a good groove, get him feeling back to normal and used to throwing when things are going well. I am intrigued to see how our bullpen does under pressure for once.
