  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 05:29 PM) I thought that was already reported so he could get his max deal? And I'm totally 100% sure that he'll keep to his word, right?
  2. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) <!--quoteo(post=3075130:date=Nov 10, 2014 -> 01:11 PM:name=Balta1701)-->QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) <!--quotec-->Dude. Not. Ok. It's a reference to a movie, keep it within the context in which it was clearly meant. The point is/was, you don't go full retard, and Ted Cruz just did. This politically correct s*** is absurd at this point in which you can't even reference a f***ing mainstream Hollywood movie anymore. And of course, everyone has seen that movie.
  3. Guys, I'm pretty sure Lebron himself has an optout next offseason.
  4. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 04:24 PM) What positions all in all can Conor play? 3b and 1b are all he's ever played outside of 2 games in LF while in AAA.
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) 6. Micker Adolfo, OF ------------ NO / too much medicinal hash WTFingF?
  6. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 02:17 PM) Maybe they want to shift Encarnacion over to 1B/DH and sign either Pablo or Headley? Encarnacion played only 4 games outside of 1b/DH all last year.
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 11:44 AM) Ted Cruz just went full retard. Dude. Not. Ok.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 02:10 PM) Toronto is talking about meeting with Pablo Sandoval and Russell Martin. I'm not sure how much their hurting to move salary at this point. Then WTF was with them moving Lind?
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 01:51 PM) I'm not sure he's ready for AA. His speed is real and the defense is supposedly coming along nicely, but the bat isn't terribly impressive at this point. Contact rate is good (15% K/PA), but he doesn't walk a ton, shows no significant power (2 HR, .395 SLG in a very hitter-friendly park), and only hit .258 on the year. He did improve a lot after a disastrous April and mediocre May, but it was uneven (big June, OK July, hot August but only in 5 games). He also missed most of August with an injury. He's probably going to AA, but I wouldn't put money on it. I like him, but I'd struggle to put him higher than mid-teens at this point. As he's not likely to be a power guy at all, he needs to get on base and hit for high average and make that speed work for him. For the opposite view of this franchise...I'll say that I'll always put money on the White Sox aggressively promoting players and go the other way.
  10. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) this news of the dodgers willing to absorb salary and a trade for Danks for 1 or there of"ers kind of threw me for a loop. I never thought that will be done. I was hoping for a dodger prospect to be thrown in to sweeten the deal. That tweet from Phil Rogers may not have any information in it more than anyone else in this thread - good chance he's just speculating exactly as was done here.
  11. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 11:35 AM) I would definitely try to swap Danks and Tank for Crawford or Either. Not saying I wouldn't want Kemp, but it just seems like a hassle that could easily blow in our faces. Just get the Dodgers to throw in like $10M or so for their 2017 contracts and it makes a ton of sense for both clubs. I have no clue why the Dodgers would have any urge to take on a $4 million bill for Viciedo. Their 1b slot is full, they already have too many outfielders, they don't have a DH slot, and he's a terrible guy to have on the bench for an NL team because he's not versatile and terrible on defense.
  12. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 11:31 AM) What about Carlos Sanchez? He only had 104 big league plate appearances. I don't think a publication like BA would rank him very highly for reasons stated above.
  13. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 11:25 AM) Has Bassitt "graduated" from prospect status yet? If so, that's why. He should still qualify based on this link: He missed a lot of time last year, wasn't that highly thought of in the first place, so I can kinda get why they wouldn't have him ranked highly.
  14. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 08:14 AM) Couple things to keep in mind: 1. Lots of teams like Kemp's bat and would like to have him if the Dodgers pay a bunch of money for the contract. There's no way we're going to be able to get him for Danks and expect them to throw in money. Whichever team gets him is going to pay for it -- either by taking on way more money than they want to get him for little talent, or by giving up something of real value to get Kemp at a reasonable salary. 2. Matt Kemp has made it publicly clear that he wants to play center field, and has a a history of inconsistency that appears to be at least partially related to his happiness level. I don't think that he's likely to get exactly what he wants (CF) anywhere, but you can bet he would be very vocally angry if he's relegated to DH, and that's not something that his acquiring team will want to deal with. If we get Kemp, he will be in the field every day, most likely in left. One more thing to keep in mind - if the reports of the Dodgers needing to cut payroll from a couple weeks ago are accurate, and so far that does seem to be consistent with how rumors like this are being presented, then the teams that offers the Dodgers the most salary relief for 2 of these guys are probably the teams that will get them. In other words, Danks going back would be very unlikely.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 10:17 PM) Who shows up to coach though? Who cares?
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 10:03 PM) Well it's definitely not Beane's MO to hand out 100 million dollar contracts... He doesn't have to in order to keep Samardzija for 2015. He could then deal him at the deadline if out of the race or hold onto him, shoot for one more playoff run, and then still pick a draft pick up.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 09:31 PM) We've spent a lot of money on that s*** defense. Just one quick version of the numbers finds the Bears spending $63 mil on Offense this year and $45 mil on defense (I think the remainder is dead money/Peppers).
  18. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 09:26 PM) Is that the coaching or the players the coach has? And how have injuries factored into that? Tucker sucks, not denying that, but there's not as much to go on with him as others. Frankly, a weaker and more injured Bears roster last year significantly outperformed this one.
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 09:27 PM) Came here to post this. This is making the new England game look close. This has crossed into fun bad for me. I was laughing at the first INT.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 06:34 PM) What is the over/under on Rodgers completions his first 15 passes tonight? 11.5? Yup, 12/15. You forgot the 4 TDs though.
  21. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 09:16 PM) Special teams is equally terrible but not equally as important. They're so bad that it makes up for the fact that they're not on the field as often.
  22. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 09:11 PM) No, it isn't. The terrible defense is half the problem. I think they're 1/3 of the problem. The other 2/3 are special teams and offense.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 06:34 PM) What is the over/under on Rodgers completions his first 15 passes tonight? 11.5? 9/10.
  24. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 9, 2014 -> 08:50 PM) Watch Cutler respond by leading the Bears to an equalizer... Um...
