There are currently a lot of sources of funding for a minority student as well, I suppose they may have been available at that time as well. Of course, you'd have to take his word about these things since those things are kept very private and I'd imagine the records of his finances wouldn't stick around for long. You can certainly get a feel about much of his education just based on his graduation and admission from the respective schools. He doesn't appear to have been a drop-out biology major. One of George W.'s Yale transcripts was published by who knows who and how they got it sometime around 2004. I believe he got a B- in Geology, IIRC.
