  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 09:22 PM) How? He can't even have Ryan Braun suspended for failing a drug test. Hawk doesn't have a union.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 09:09 PM) He also should have knocked down the double. Was the balk call legit? I was sitting a couple rows behind the Mariners on deck circle, you could hear Robing yelling the call was "bulls***". It was disturbingly similar to Joe West's balk calls on Buehrle. Hawk was eerily quiet.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) Yeah, it's not as much that Quintana would be the 5th starter, but you're putting a lot of faith in Axelrod to step up when one of the starters hits the DL/hits the wall Personally I'm not sold on Quintana as a full time effective starter just yet, the guy has barely been above A-ball and hasn't yet hit any adversity.
  4. No one has twittered anything about him getting hurt again yet. Hopefully nothing bad.
  5. Missed this one. The 10 year US Treasury note dropped to its lowest rate ever earlier this week, then has broken that record 2 days in a row. Beat the mark set in 1946 on Wednesday, and has dropped another 10% or so since then already.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:32 PM) Why not? Would you prefer prospects from some team? We're not going to challenge for this division if Quintana is the 5th starter.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:28 PM) I think everybody here would be OK Youk for Gavin straight up. Ha. Funny.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) 0-10 from our 3/4 hitters. Bad loss There's a couple guys in this lineup who might benefit from a day off.
  9. Got a good pitch to hit and just missed it.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:21 PM) Yep, and that's the only place Montero can hurt you right now If it's AJ's usual formula, he likes to get ahead of guys using his fastball and saving the slider as the putaway pitch. If the fastball is located well, it works. If the fastball isn't located well, then either guys hit the fastball, or he falls behind and guys lay off the slider.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:14 PM) He needs to throw his slider more. Seems to have fallen in love with his fastball. His location wasn't as sharp in the 2nd inning as in the first and that's what really got him. That fastball double should have been farther inside, it wasn't, so the guy got the bat on it. That ball to Montero was out over the plate even if it was low.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) They really gotta cut this 2nd inning for the closer bulls***. Not a lot of choices here.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:59 PM) Alexei, win it or you pitch. After that curveball he might try going headhunting. Yowza.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:59 PM) Tank swung for the Dan Ryan. Just can't time a real good fastball.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:54 PM) And you also have to wonder if he threw a side session already today. Good point, didn'te ven think of that.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:53 PM) I can't see why he wouldn't be The question is how much time he actually needs to get loose and ready. He's used to starting, not relief, but you don't want to warm him up too early and then wind up not needing him.
  17. Whoof. Come on offense. Not much left in the pen.
