  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 12:34 PM) Imagine how much better our lineup would be this year and moving forward if he could man the hot corner adequately... but I doubt that he can, especially midseason and all that He can't, and you're darn likely to screw with his bat by changing his focus again.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 12:06 PM) That doesn't mean they made more money during that series... Isn't your usual statement here to reference the parking lots?
  3. I'd rather release Viciedo than move him back to 3b.
  4. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) There's always money in the Banana Stand I'd expect that they have money, but I don't see them having a lot of talent to trade to bring in people if they want to make a move.
  5. If nothing else, it seems like they're trying to be creatively aggressive here. Which is what they have to be doing.
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 10:19 PM) I am going to hold Robin accountable here. If that play is practiced the amount it should be, it is NEVER messed up in that way. We've gotten almost every other rundown correct this year, Alexei was just focusing on doing the "1 baserunner" rundown correct and spaced the other one.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) Why is D2 in? Viciedo left while running bases with "Tightness in both hamstrings" (aka cramps).
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 10:13 PM) What did Alexei do on his error? Basically just missed it.
  9. "Tightness in both hamstrings" for Viciedo. Cramps.
  10. Any advice on sections to sit in/avoid at Fenway Park? Avoiding upper deck, avoiding the monster seats.
  11. Brent Morel has officially suffered a setback in rehab and will return to Chicago for more tests.

  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 06:49 PM) I argued for years that he was a bust and was going to be a bust and nobody ever owned that they were wrong, either. They simply blamed Anderson's failures on Ozzie Guillen. Despite the fact that he was quickly out of baseball and never came close to making it as a pitcher or with another organization as an outfielder. 3 years of screwing with a kid's development stands a good shot at screwing up a lot of careers.
  14. By the way...Apple yesterday was awarded a patent on "Wedge shaped computers" taht could basically ban all "Ultrabook" type Windows computers because of the shape.
  15. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:26 PM) Let me put it another way...maybe money doesn't truly "win" elections since the amount of money that will be raised/spent will probably be nearly equal for November. Meaning, when the money gets to the billion mark, what's a couple million here or there. So...instead of money winning elections...people and corporations (or as Mitt Romney likes to call them, "people") THINK money wins elections. Hey everyone...let's spend a billion dollars on something else...how about education? How about the charity of your choice? How about your church? How about, well, anything? Money in elections remind me of renting an apartment. That's cash down the drain every month without anything to show for it...unless it turns south in which case you can blame the landlord. The question is...how many elections are won by guys who don't have money? Walker went on the air last fall. After his fall ad blitz, his approval ratings went from 41/59 to 52/48 by January. Was that the ten million dollars spent on ads, or the movement of the union busting into the background combined with the generally slowly improving American economy?
  16. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:40 PM) Your Boozer thoughts do make sense...maybe they've been asking for too much?? If moving Boozer requires the Bulls taking on another bad contract in reply, then the motivation for moving Boozer is pretty low.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) Why would anyone trade a top 5 pick for Asik and Deng? Im one of the bigger Asik supporters, but there is a great chance that guys like Leonard Meyers are available at 10 or later, Fab Melo may be there at the end of the first round, so why would you trade a top 5 pick for Asik/Deng? I could see a team who wants to contend possibly giving up a 10-15 for some sort of package like that, but I just dont see why Cleveland, Washington or Sacramento would want that deal, and those are the spots where Gilchrist and Barnes are likely to go. What's cleveland's cap state? Alonzo Gee, their starting SF last year, is a restricted FA, and along with the young guys from last year's draft Deng could be a good "Veteran" match, especially if they think they'll lose Gee.
  18. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:08 PM) Nope. (imo) The only thing that would get the Bulls a top 5 pick is some deal with Taj plus this years first and the Bobcats first. Even then Im not convinced. Boozer has negative value. What about Asik? He's an RFA and his rights could be used in a deal along with Deng.
  19. Praising the incandescent bulb when there are such efficient options out there compared to those dinosaurs. The Green movement needs to be heard here as well.
  20. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 02:08 PM) I agree. Not only did many Wisconsinites disagree with the recall...but the Democrats ran an opponent that already lost once. Were they honestly expecting different results? If they had been able to do this last year, right after the protests, right after the State Senate fleeing brouhaha, they might have had a legit shot. It's been a year and there was already one big deal recall election knocking out many of the Republican State Senators last year. Even if the people who Walker declared the enemy were going to be fired up, it was going to be hard to get everyone fired up. That said, with as fired up as those people were, they couldn't just "Not make the effort and be satisified with taking back the State Senate".
  21. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) The entire system is broken...and don't start with the blind support. If you think that some GOPers don't blindly support candidates...well then, you are...blind. This just shows that money wins elections...not issues. So again I say, the system in broken. Even though this one had a ton of money in it...I'm not quite sure the results would have been any different had there been an even spending field. It matches up so closely with the results from 18 months ago.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 10:13 AM) Doubtful until next year I wouldn't be surprised at all if they move him up after the AS game. This franchise is typically very aggressive in pushing their young guys up to higher levels even if they're raw. Especially if Danks winds up hanging on in the bigs as a backup, leaving an opening in Charlotte's OF, moving him up fits their M.O.
