  1. They're very content with their new golf clubs.
  2. QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 08:39 AM) Hiring Oz wasn't up to him and firing Oz is not up to him. I think most everyone here would agree that KW would have fired Oz in 2008 or 2009 if it was his call. Certainly Oz would be gone by now. Basically I believe Ozzie is playing chicken to see which one of them will be fired first. Ozzie for misplaying these guys or KW for signing them. Oz reminds me of a spoiled baby fighting for Dad's attention and love. Why would he have been fired iafter 2008 or 2009? He won the division in 08.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 25, 2011 -> 09:20 AM) Surprised nobody has commented on this movie yet. With how bad the White Sox are, I guess everyone's watching football but you'd think at least one person here would have seen it. I'm not spending $30 to see this.
  4. The Iggles can't tackle to save their lives.
  5. Everyone here, I think.
  6. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 24, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) And a question...what was DeAza hitting in AAA before he came up? I really don't even think putting a comparison of what DeAza's done due to Walker is realistic. How much time has he spent around DeAza...besides ST? Maybe Chambliss should be getting the credit. He hit .302 with the Knights in a full year in 2010 (.366 OBP, .800 OPS), and was hitting .322 (.378/.871) in 2011. He was tearing the cover off the ball.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) That's why they waived him? Get real. I'll say the same about Humber. Yes. He got hurt, and the guy missed most of the 2007 and all of the 2008 seasons. By the time he played another game in the Marlins org, it was mid 2009, and Chris Coghlan won rookie of the year in their OF. He was waived after playing 1/2 of a season in their minors in 2009, despite hitting .300 with an .876 OPS coming off an injury that cost him nearly 2 full years. He went nearly 2 full years without an at bat, then came back and hit .300 at AAA.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 24, 2011 -> 08:36 PM) I'm sure he'll never respond to this since it doesn't fit his narrative. Guys, we really don't need to egg on a person who hasn't been in this thread for a while.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) Its only fair then to give Walker credit for De Aza, a guy that failed elsewhere. No he simply did not. He got hurt.
  10. QUOTE (Tex @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) Sadly Perry has the most experience with immigration issues and how they helped Texas. His immigration plans would actually play better to Dems than Reps. He hasn't really started spending money, plenty of time to get back on track. He also is way, way, way behind Mittens in raising money.
  11. Of course, the article doesn't give me enough information to evaluate if that matters, since it says the FDA can approve it when they're essential, and there's no argument given for why that design is "essential".
  12. Really, when you need to defend yourself like that...you're not defending yourself.
  13. But you can't judge a book by that.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) Well, that was a terrible start. My hope is he's the 6th starter going into next year and starts off the season in AAA. He has to show he can still consistently get hitters out, as he struggled some in the minors this year and clearly had minimal success in the majors this year. This I 100% agree with btw. Stewart beig guaranteed a starting spot is not setting up to compete next year, it's setting up to rebuild.
  15. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) Wait, who wanted Hudson traded? He didn't succeed right away. He was garbage. Pitchers get 2 starts. If thy give up 3 hits, that's it, career over.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:15 PM) Moistened? That's an impressive autocorrect for Moustakas.
  17. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) If you're "in" a pennant race you don't give up your 2nd best pitcher for nothing.. And if Morel is one of your arguments.. I'm sorry.. I know you haven't watched this season, that's why you still support Ozzie and think morel is a problem.
  18. Oh, and this is the same motivation that caused Kenny to trade Hudson too. How dare a pitcher not succeed right away!!
  19. And the thing that really bugs me...Gavin Floyd got this same rant in 2007. Brent morel had it a month ago. Moistened would have gotten it if the sox had him. This is why developing guys takes effort, commitment, an struggling.
  20. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) What does that have to do with KW, gave away the sox 2nd best pitcher at the time, for a bag of peanuts and an old sock? Because Toronto gave him away for the other sock.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) So for the next few years, who would you rather have: Rasmus or Stewart? We already have Rasmus, were just paying him more.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:07 PM) Balta, I really don't get your angle right now on the Jackson for Frasor/Hudson trade. Right now, it looks like a terrible trade for the Sox...don't really know how anyone else could argue differently. If only we got Colby Rasmus, his .575 ops since that trade would fit right in!! The cardinals gave up a fortune!
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Huh? I never said I want them back, but the return for the second best starting pitcher traded at the deadline is absolutely awful. Frasor looks like a one and done here. And well still wind up with a draft pick out of it. And I get to rip you guys in 2 or 3 years once Stewart has a chance to develop. The best pitcher on the market still wasn't that good.
  24. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) I want Getz and Hudson back... Getz?
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2011 -> 09:03 PM) Brilliant scouting getting Frasor and Stewart for Jackson/Teahen. Now you want those guys back? An you wonder why I'm taunting you.
