So he's under contract for 3.5 more years. Yeah, the Rockies could have asked for more.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 04:04 PM) It's the new hot "rumor" over the last few days, that the Rockies would think about selling him and his team-friendly contract. I can't tell if they have actually discussed or if Heyman just had nothing better to write about. If that's the case, then they asked for an appropriate price. Heck, the Rockies could have asked for more.

Well, that could apply to most standard American diets.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) Apparently the Rockies asked the Yankees for Montero, Nova, Banuelos and Betances for Ubaldo. Is he a FA sometime soon? Why would the Yankees even think he's available?

WTF are we waiting for ? Call up Viciedo !
QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 02:13 PM) That's much more realistic than sending Dunn to AAA but I bet he would agree to it and I bet it would do him good. After the first half, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd offered him either a DL stint or a minor league stint at some point just to see what he'd say.

Keep funding labs and we'll look at those things. Keep cutting taxes and there'll be no one to do that test.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 02:05 PM) Why not Dunn? See if he can get his swing back in AAA if he doesn't show any life over the next two series. Because the Sox can't send him to the minors unless it's on a rehab stint unless he agrees to go to the minors or the Sox eat his entire contract.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 02:04 PM) What the hell is Asdrubal Cabrera injecting this season? Supposedly Orlando Cabrera stepped in and became his hitting coach and told him to start swinging to hit the ball out.

Good shot at at, at least in carbon and oxygen. The air you breathe and the food you eat dominates.

Adam Dunn Articles and Quotes thread
QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 01:53 PM) Is there any reason to believe that Dunn would improve next year? I am not a hitting guru by any means but a lot of you guys say that certain hitters swings (like Beckham's) is too long - is that the case for Adam Dunn? Year to year stats indicate he has never had something this bad happen to him ever, but at least there was some consistency with his strikeouts to give KW an idea of what he was getting himself into. Adam Dunn has always, always, always had a swing that was described as "Too long". That's how he swings and why he always piles up the strikeouts. He takes a big long swing, when he hits the ball it goes 440 feet, but then he misses the ball a lot.

Eventually most humans approach similiar isotope values. Unless he's way overweight.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 01:32 PM) Most of that is Santiago is gone first. Second probably is Bruney, thought it would be ideal to try to find away to push Pena back to Sept 1st. That's what we were trying to get you to say. Basically...we need to trade someone.

Can we avoid sampling the BS? I already know its isotopic composition.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Pena has to be our garbage innings guy as long as Bruney is pitching all right. So who goes to AAA? Bruney's pitched well enough that someone ought to grab him as a back of the bullpen reliever.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) That was a joke. Hence the "!" Prior to that joke, I'd never sat down and actually looked at the numbers the Pirates rotation was putting up this year. I knew Karstens was going nuts but beyond that I didn't know what they had, so I actually found replying to be a worth while exercise. If Jackson had started the season there it probably would have helped their rotation, they've thrown the 2nd fewest innings out of their starters in the NL, but at this point in the season it seems like they have sorta lined things up.
