Ads implant false memories
QUOTE (knightni @ May 26, 2011 -> 06:45 PM) Will it send you to Mars to see a triple-breasted woman? Get the president and congress to drop the NASA/JPL budget cuts and we'll work on that.

The sign behind home plate is advertising the "Next Generation Civic". I could only see half of it, and my brain guessed at the word and thought Honda was advertising a low radiation Civic. Is that funny or too soon?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2011 -> 04:51 PM) At the end of the day, both party's do this stuff all of the time by stuffing their crap into bills that "have" to be passed. This is simply the latest in a really, really long line of the same old s***. Best example of my life was TARP

Worth noting that you can say the exact same thing about Dwight Howard as well. They're clearly the most physically gifted players in the game, but they get by entirely on their physical skills, not on their technique.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 26, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Completely disagree, Lebron is going to be the 3, unless you are suggesting Lebron 4 and Bosh 5. If you have Lebron down low its immediately a double from whoever is on Joel Anthony, Haslem, its not coming off of Bosh. Which creates an easy pass to that player or a massive improvement in their offensive rebounding.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
The other thing worth noting is that a rudimentary post game is exactly what the Heat offense would need to team with Bosh and Haslem. If Lebron could score from the low post, then defenses would have to forcibly deny him the ball in the low post, which means they'd have to move away from Bosh at the top of the key to provide extra help. That would open up the game Bosh is best at. They'd also have to deal with Lebrons ability to get around them if he got the ball in the low post. It'd probably improve their rebounding game by putting Lebron closer to the rim on the offensive boards too.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) LeBron is not unstoppable now? How good is he supposed to get? If he spent the summer working on a post game as hard as Rose spent last summer working on his jumpshot, it'd be a sight to behold. Suddenly give him multilple methods of scoring the ball making use of his size.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:51 PM) Lebron is one of the hardest workers in the NBA (at least thats what I thought) I don't believe that for a second. He's the most athletically gifted player in the NBA and that covers up for everything else.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:28 PM) That's it. Bulls are winning this series. That'd be the epic "Spite balta" move. But it'd make me too **** happy, so it won't happen.

Arizona requires you to carry your papers
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) It wont be done nationally because it was a states rights ruling. So all we are going to get is states competing versus states, but finally Illinois gets the advantage being one of the most pro-illegal friendly states. Usually we are on the losing end with EPA guidelines, state taxes etc. Just like "not charging amazon.com taxes so that local retailers get screwed" is hardly an advantage, being pro-illegal friendly is hardly an advantage.

I hate to have to agree with the Republican here, but if the advanced metrics are saying that nothing much has changed about Miami's defense in the playoffs, then I'm never citing an advanced metric again.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2011 -> 03:07 PM) I'm even less of a stats guy in basketball after all of the years I spent broadcasting it. Especially defensively there are This is as good of a defensive series of basketball as I have seen since the defensive rules changed because of Michael Jordan. This whole series has been what would happen if you took Celtics/Lakers game 7 last year and turned it into a 5 game series.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 26, 2011 -> 02:59 PM) I know you're not a huge stats guy. But they didn't lie. Miami has been elite on defense all year. Not just this series. Miami was no where near during the season what they've been on defense in this series. If they were elite all year...then whatever they are now is 7 steps above elite. This is beyond ridiculous.
