QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:38 PM) Shawne Merriman resigns with Buffalo on a 2 yr deal ESPN article I have injured knees and can't play football. I'm going to call up the Bills and I assume they'll offer me a contract.

Is 2011 make or break for Ozzie?
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) im fine with getting rid of him if we don't make the playoffs, but if we don't make it it won't be his fault. With this team? Who's fault could it be?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) In a one game situation has never been the question. Could TCU go undefeated in a major conference is the question. Well, actually, I'm not sure either of those is the question. They decide the title by using the first of those options to answer questions about the second, and they use the 2nd to choose who has the right to go after the first. Dizzying.

Step number one on the road to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

Quietly, no one sees has now brought us to the real issue. 2k5, this is your intervention.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kenny Williams wound up calling it a career if the Twins win it again.

Ozzie is not directly under contract for 2012 and can be cut loose by the team not picking up his option right? You better believe it's make or break.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:00 PM) What kind of play call is that on the 2-point conversion? Talk about outhinking yourself... Yeah, I would have kept the ball on the ground there.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) Our discussion was on 4 and 5 star recruits. I can research that too, I guess. Yeah, that's exactly what we were discussing but not exactly the spirit of it. The reason we got on this was that I asked what NFL-difference-makers Charlie Weis had turned out. Despite having somewhere between average and good recruiting classes, he hasn't really turned out any great ones that I can think of. USC has had more high level recruits, but it also seems like they've turned out a higher %age of NFL-ers out of their top recruits. On top of that, the medium and lower level recruits at SC have produced more NFL players, while I don't think that there's a lot of those at Notre Dame setpping up under Weis either. The reason why you ask this question at all is that in the recruiting game, it's the pictures of 5 nfl stars behind you that speak as much or more than anything you say. Weis seems to me like he got some number of solid prospects, but I don't think he ever really got the NFL-stars out of it.

How many lower-ranked recruits have they turned into solid NFL-ers though? There's a lot of players who have come out of USC to the NFL who aren't on that list.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 04:06 PM) It sucks, but there was no room for him. Really can't even complain about Rashied Davis right now. Sidney Rice would look good on the Bears next year.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) Is there a slip in there when he mentions he keeps his nose clean? Probably. Like when you ask one of the Bulls guys about their team this year and they say how much better their schemes are. Probably was just finding a way to look the other way for so long so that it wouldn't bother him.
