  1. QUOTE (Chet Lemon @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) Gov. Mark Sanford I knew I was missing one, thanks
  2. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 08:24 PM) Take note Jair Jurrjens of Atlanta gave up like 8 in 3 innings. Yeesh, and that is against San Diego too.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 06:14 PM) NJ Governor. Hence where I said "the NJ Governor". It really is remarkable that he could actually say the Republicans have them resign and the Dems don't when the Republicans still have several of them in Congress.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:47 PM) Stop making excuses for him like people made for Javy. These guys are getting paid a ton of money, and simply aren't performing so far. Yeah, he should be throwing a shutout every game.
  5. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) The summer of 2009 is going to be the worst thing that ever happened to the white sox. Really? 1919? 88 years without a world series? The game where they wore shorts? Disco Demolition night? 2007? David Wells? GM Harrelson?
  6. The LAT story is a bit iffy on some of the details, but supposedly the OTS has a report on the demise of Washington Mutual due later this week. One of the conclusions appears to be that the employees at WaMu were deliberately shuttling their clients money into investments filled with mortgage-backed securities that they knew were likely to go bad in order to rake in the short-term profits before things got bad and they got out.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) And at the end of the day, more often than Dems, Repubs usually do the decent thing and step away. John Ensign. David Vitter. Larry Craig. Eliot Spitzer. The governor in NJ a couple years ago. Any other examples from this decade?
  8. Mike Cameron with the first instant replay shot in Target Field. That's a CRAZY ricochet
  9. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 05:43 PM) Or if you're a sitting Republican. Fixed.
  10. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) They could move AJ to the outfield. "AJ's in the Outfield" sounds like a solid movie to me.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 05:19 PM) He is the best hitter of all time. Not sure where this debate will go, but I'd like to note in reply that he's only tied for 6th all time in career OPS+ with Mickey Mantle, with 4 humans and one tetrahydragestrinone-enhanced monster ahead of him. And every one ahead of him has whatever decline they saw as their careers went downhill included in their numbers, whereas he doesn't. He's also barely above Shoeless Joe...who might have that same objection I just noted regarding decline in his later seasons being avoided.
  12. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 05:11 PM) Pujols is a beast. Dude was actually in a quasi-slump until yesterday.

    Grillin'!

    QUOTE (Heads22 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) So what type cooks roadkill the best? See the post before yours.
  14. Balta smiles as the ESPN announcer marvels at the "450 million year old" age of the MN limestone used to make a large wall in LF.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) IF only it could happen... If none of the big 3 come to chicago this offseason, then I'll be first on the line calling for the heads of the management.
  16. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) Jon Lester sucks. Come on douche bag. I want a BoSox sweep. If D1 had come up in Boston and Lester had come up in Chicago, every one of those guys who predicted Lester would win the Cy Young award this year would have predicted D1 would win it instead. Maybe even more people than that.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) This would be a team, assuming Rose's continued progression, that you could start talking deep run with... Depending on what Cleveland was able to do in the offseason...that team is right there for winning the East.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Ray Allen... depending on how the league has soured on him and how much he can get. Rose Allen Deng Bosh Noah I'd (ugh) still hold onto Hinrich in that case...mainly as a defensive backup, but I'd go for that. Johnson and Gibson and Hinrich off the bench, that starting lineup goes 8 deep, maybe think about bringing back Miller for a small veterans contract, and then look at maybe bringing back Acie Law or something like that, and now we're 10 deep and 2 deep at every position.
  19. Hudson with the Twins first hit. Mauer with his first standing O.
  20. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:16 PM) Obv you've forgotten who makes the lineup for this team (not b**@# about it...just saying). Nix will get a start sooner than later I'm guessing. Ozzie hates Nix's game and he has a backup IF that he likes MUCH MUCH more.
  21. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:25 PM) I'll have to try one out on Wednesday. I hate the Metrodome so much, but the "Dome Dog" was very tasty. No, I mean, it's an actual dog. It has a seat.
