  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) If Cleveland was smart, they'd walk Quentin here. To face the hottest hitter on the team?
  2. What is the point of having a leadoff hitter who can steal a base if you always just bunt?
  3. The bunt is still a terrible play there, unless Beckham is just ice cold
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) Ooh, the responses from the players (and all but Schilling's last paragraph) really ticked me off. You really can feel the sense of entitlement in their remarks. I was listening to the Braves announcers heading home today discussing those remarks. Supposedly, at some point one guy they knew brought a stopwatch to the game and simply timed all of the stuff the Yankees/Sox were doing in-between bats, whether arguing with the umps or stuff like Nomar's glove adjustments, whatever (his word was "Preening"). The total was about 45 minutes.
  5. Got a good swing on that ball, at least jenks had it inside on him.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:08 PM) Did AJ not see it? What happened? He's usually not terrible. I think the runner shielded him from the ball.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 11:03 PM) There was a caller on B&B today saying they'd average around 1.6 runs/ game more than the 2005 team. I could fully believe we'd have a more effective offense than 2005, but I think offense around the league is down quite a bit from then.
  8. Y'all were saying something about Konerko picking things well?
  9. Juan Pierre is the only hitter in the game without a strikeout.
  10. So, you bunt with Beckham with a great base stealer on the bases when we need 1 run, but you don't bunt with Teahen when you need 1 run with a guy who can steal but not as often?
  11. BTW i'd like to note its a real shame we couldn't get Santos his first win.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) Made a pretty crappy throw on Sizemore's double. But he did hold him to a double though. As far as he had to go that should have been a triple unless Sizemore is running like me.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) Why can't Sox get some more hits like Peralta did? Flip the bat out there and place one nicely in the outfield. Pitcher supplies the power. Like what Quentin did?
  14. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) Konerkos poor D Q's slow pickup (Q's bad D) and Thorntons over use. Eh I doubt there was anything Quentin could have done. That was a crazy bounce. The ball hit the side of part of the fence and shot to the side.
