  1. Possible to just disable the edit post function in this thread?
  2. Next time you should get more creative in your queing.
  3. Last time I ever combine tomato puree, sugar, and vinegar.
  4. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 08:01 PM) Absolutely. But here's another scenario. With Jenks' a couple of seasons away from FA, if the Sox signed Chapman, would they groom him to be a their closer of the future possibly? Or do you leave him as a starter, and only move him to the bullpen as a last resort? Always go starter first. Always.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 06:17 PM) That's Podsednik. I still can't believe that happened. Same night.
  6. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 08:16 PM) You forgot Detroit. Also, what makes you think the Thunder will be 9th? That's a big jump, even for a team with a lot of young talent unless you talking a big drop off from Phoenix. I could totally see the Thunder making noise this year and a big dropoff from Phoenix as well.
  7. I would like to cheer you on for leaving out Detroit.
  8. Dat's the Michigan City I remember.
  9. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) Newsday Now that would make sense.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 06:27 PM) Trade me Thomas then Zoom. Frankly, the Bulls should really consider trying to move him this season if he does anything other than getting benched. The odds of them matching a RFA offer on him next summer aren't good.
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 05:57 PM) Isn't the upcoming free agent class supposed to be the Bulls chance for that? Isn't Derrick Rose supposed to become an impact player? I'm not saying the Bulls are set for the future, but there are opportunities for them and they just had the top pick in the draft a year ago. If the Bulls cut Thomas loose next summer they can offer a max deal, assuming they don't trade anyone during this season. The issue is going to be...how much does Bosh want to leave Toronto? Or Wade leave Miami? Or can Amare ever stay healthy and decide to play defense? Or what do we do with Deng after signing Lebron (I can live with that problem). Anyway, yeah they can do it, but they have to be able to close the deal.
  12. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 06:03 PM) just thought you guys should know, Mike Huckabee is on the Hannity show right now talking bad about Obama. In other words, it's a day of the week that ends in Y.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) Adrian.Beltre. You know, if we've moved Jenks's salary and filled that extra lefty role, then adding a FA like him is possible while still filling the DH role elsewhere.
  14. So, the deal as written fills one of our OF and leadoff holes and does so cheaply, it cuts salary in the bullpen and gets us another LHP arm, and what it costs us is a weakened IF. Move Beckham to SS again, we're back open at 3b. Joshua Fields Forever? Pretty much we're filling 2 holes while opening one at 3b. But we also have people on the way up who eventually might be able to handle it. Run Fields out there and try to salvage something for a year or at least a few months, and maybe it's Viciedo time.
  15. We've topped 100 banks on the year!
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 12:50 PM) Here's where I see the problem: As a supposed journalist, he should maintain an openness to the fact. Now, obviously every journalist on the planet has some bias one way or the other. We are all humans, it's natural. But, to lead a cause against something, then down the road report on it puts you in a major ethical bind. Do you report the facts, or the other side of the story, or do you actively slant coverage to your view point. At this point, the journalist has lost all credibility on the story. It's a journalism vs activism thing. If he wants to be a Fox News political activist, good for him. Just dont act like you are a journalist. um, he's been doing basically the exact same thing while on ABC for years. He wasn't a reporter, he was a paid Conservative commentor who appeared on their shows.
  17. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 10:04 AM) Nice break, but $42K might as well be $110K. . . still out of my price range. Buy it in Colorado, sell it in California, pocket about $30k on the deal. Repeat 2-3 more times, and suddenly you can afford one.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 10:00 AM) The "liberal media" to start. And now you've made my point. Thanks. Back to writing.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 09:47 AM) Hilariously, these are all the reasons why he's had zero credibility. Even the one thing he could reasonably make a claim for (national security) comes with major consequences as the United States is starting to feel the strain of imperial overreach and the Bush Doctrine/neocon worldview collapses under its own weight. My point exactly. But here's the thing to really consider. Who exactly is it who considers him a respected voice on those issues?
  20. Not something I have to worry about for a while at least.
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 08:45 AM) Cheney doesn't have anything constructive or relevant to say, so he should seriously take a cue from his former boss and sit down and be quiet somewhere. He's a respected voice on national security issues, privacy rights, and the treatment of detainees.
