  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:34 AM) They spent the last few months blaming Republicans, who don't hold the White House, nor a single house of Congress, for holding up progress. This is such a "sweep the dirt under the rug" post it's kind of remarkable if you actually believe that. It's like being pissed off at the government for the smoke in the L.A. basin but ignoring the giant wildfire.
  2. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 11:03 PM) Excited to see Blake Griffin tomorrow night? You'll have to wait another 6 weeks. If there was ever an injury that was 100% predictable from the moment the draft lottery happened...
  3. Said it before and I'll say it again, if someone's going to give him that kind of money, let them. I wouldn't pay that much for a rookie who's never pitched above AA.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:10 AM) Other than being the party of No right now, how are they offering solutions? John McCain's health care plan was to fully eliminate the employer tax credit for insurance and push everyone onto the individual insurance market.
  5. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 09:03 AM) How long did they know swine flu was going to hit the U.S.? (-12 months? Seems like a pretty good head start, don't ya think? Am I the only one who remembers the virus's sudden appearance on the national consciousness in April after it first really appeared in Mexico in March? You have an odd definition of "Months". Or of "12". I can't tell which.
  6. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 08:25 PM) What was the Cuban baseball schedule like? Did Dayan play a lot more ball this year than he has before? According to Cubano, 90 games and then the playoffs.
  7. LOL, it's the government's fault that this particular virus doesn't grow as quickly in mass production facilities as other flu viruses.
  8. Killer, this thread's talking about Journey? Woke up to Don't Stop believin' today.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 06:39 AM) While I appreciate Reid showing some testicular fortitude, I still think the public option is the wrong path. The Republicans had 8 years to craft a health insurer friendly, market based solution to health care, and all they did was pretend there wasn't a problem. It's our turn to try to fix it.
  10. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Oct 27, 2009 -> 08:16 AM) MSNBC is opinion from 4 p.m. until midnight. There is no news. You could probably throw the 3:00 p.m. hoour in there too. Whereas , Fox at least broadcasts news at 5:00 and 6:00 every night. Without watching MSNBC or saying anything about their news coverage, one of the reasons this keeps coming up with Fox is that the word "News" there should actually be in quotes. Because Fox's "Hard News" is just as right leaning as their opinion programming.
  11. Zazooo! I'm not even sure what I'm typing any more!
  12. Quit caring so much about things that are alive.
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 05:14 PM) I would think the whole point of a petition is to associate my name with it... that's just me though. Otherwise why bother getting actual names? You could just make s*** up. Bob Stevens, Ed Jameson, Lakeshia Harris, Victoria Hoffman, and Terrence Wimbley all agree with this post. I could understand a state passing a law saying that official petitions become private at some point after the names are submitted or something like that, after a statistically significant check to make sure most of the names are real, but I sincerely doubt those laws exist. If they did they'd have been cited by this article.
  14. Of course all the racists aren't in the South. We just moved one to the White House. (/glenn beck inspired rimshot).
  15. I read this article yesterday and I'm pretty sure I agree with the legal reasoning saying that the names should be public. If I put my name on a petition, I don't expect to enjoy any right to privacy with that name, I expect other people to see that petition while its being distributed, I expect the state/local level to take time to evaluate the signatures on it to see if they're legitimate, I expect that the names are going to be stored somewhere, etc. If you're not willing to have yourself publicly identified in support of a petition then don't put your name on it.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 04:05 PM) I honestly think the Phillies have a decent shot here - at least as much as any other team could have. Their lineup is probably the most potent in the postseason other than the Yankees, and they have the starting pitching to make this happen. Not saying I think the Phillies should be favored, but I do think they have a better chance than anyone the Yankees have faced yet this Postseason. If Hamels was pitching like he was last year, I'd agree. But as far as I can tell, the Yanks 2 and 3 starters are simply head and shoulders above where the Phillies 2 and 3 starters are. Lee and Captain Cheeseburger is pretty much an even matchup on paper, so the Phils can't exactly expect to sweep the 3 games lee starts, which means to me they're going to need at least 2 wins from Hamels and Martinez, and then Lidge can't blow those wins on top of it.
  17. Come on Morales, this is probably your last shot.
  18. Just ask Mattingly? Mattingly himself said he liked Burns better than Steinbrenner.
  19. Angels need to score in reply. Can't let it sit at 3-1 for another inning or two with Pettitte in there.
  20. Guy was probably just sick of Steinbrenner complaining about his sideburns.
  21. Eventually people in NYY will get tired of his act too. Did he do something in particular tonight to motivate that remark?
  22. Can't remember that song...possibly deliberately.
  23. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 25, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) Pujols will have access to better "hitting" medicine. Keep your weight balanced, have your hands moving back as you start to shift your weight forward, flick your wrists, and you'll have the perfect form to jab the needle into your partner's ass.
