  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 26, 2009 -> 12:13 PM) Personally, I'd rather have Floyd and Flowers than Haren. Floyd and Flowers...yeah, probably rather have the 2 of them...because I'm looking ahead 1.5 seasons and seeing a big hole at catcher if we do trade Flowers.
  2. Why do people keep proposing giving up young starting pitching for starting pitching that is nearing FA and isn't a huge upgrade? Haren for Floyd I understand. Billingsly or Kershaw for Lee, why? I'd want Haren straight up for either of those guys if I was LAD.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 08:30 PM) Yeah, but he's just a comedian, and no one pays attention to him... lol. Did someone say that? People should pay attention to him. He's getting more crap right than the majority of the other networks. That's the problem!
  4. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 07:24 PM) They were probably never serious about trading him. They probably wanted to see if they could sucker a team into severly overpaying for Halladay. Isn't Jared Weaver + pretty much the definition of overpaying for Halladay?
  5. Jared weaver wasn't enough? Are they out of their minds?
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 05:04 PM) Since Kenny wasted a top 5 prospect on Pena, why not give him a shot at closing? His ERA with the White Sox is 12.46 and his WHIP is 1.846.
  7. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:57 PM) Thats a hot gun in Detroit. Thornton was 95-96. Rodney was 96-97.
  8. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:50 PM) I wonder what Jenks would bring back if you put him on the market right now... Not enough to make it worth it.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:49 PM) Perhaps Jenks is failing because he's not allowed to throw a semi-uncontrolled fastball. He's been 92 consistantly, but you see guys like Rodney, Aardsma, MacDougal allowed to rear back and throw 98. He was 96-97 today.
  10. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:45 PM) but how is it that throwing a pg or no hitter becomes a bad thing? There's clearly some mental crap going on with this team right now.
  11. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:40 PM) i was only 2 yrs old/ lol jp I was 10 and I remember that collapse to this day. I'm having flashbacks.
  12. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:35 PM) I would hate to see us give up prospects if we are 4-5 games out. I wonder what kind of return we could get for Dye considering what STL got for Holliday. Holliday will be offered arbitration. JD almost certainly won't.
  13. Anyone else remember the 1991 season, where the team was 1 game back, Wilson Alvarez threw a no hitter his first time out, the team was 20 games over .500, and suddenly they went on a major losing skid, finished the season in 2nd place and were 8 games under .500 after the no-no?
  14. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:26 PM) Doesn't matter. Sorry, not after the last 2 games. Yes it does. Because I can't remember a game where we've won the way they did today. Except for Podsednik, no one on our roster ever does what they just did to us; an unending string of balls hit where our defense wasn't.
  15. Seriously, did the Tigers hit a ball hard all day?
  16. And another ground ball. What an appropriate way to lose. Didn't even record an out.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:22 PM) And absolutely no hitting with RISP Have the Tigers hit a ball hard for a hit all day?
  18. So guys remaining in our bullpen are Carrasco, Pena, Linebrink?
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) by the way Ozzie, when will you f***ing learn to not use Jenks for two innings? Can someone tell me what exactly Jenks did wrong here?
  20. Well, after Thome and Konerko make outs, at least AJ comes up this inning.
