  1. I dunno. Which one are we getting rid of next year, Fields or Getz? My money seems to be on Fields.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:29 PM) BA will be traded to a NL team in the off-season. Probably not this year. He'll than go on to be a career 4th to 5th outfielder. Offensively he doesn't have the ability to start. I think if he gets a legit hitting coach who can find a way to get through to him, he'll have a solid career, but he's just not a match with this staff at all. The stories we're going to hear whenever they do move him...
  3. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:33 PM) On whom do you think Coop did his best work, Thornton, or Floyd? I'd have to say Floyd considering, he got great results whike keeping him a starter. Thornton. Floyd was as much mental as it was physical. You can see that in how he performed in AAA in 07. Thornton, Coop talked to him for 5 minutes and turned him into an all-star.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) You always have to worry about him keeping his legs healthy. If you go into next year with him in CF and Quentin in LF, you better have a good back-up Happily, I think we've got our backup plan in CF at AA right now if he does. And our leadoff options have multiplied now that Getz has resumed hitting.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) When he was struggling I pointed a lot of it to bad luck and just some poor location. The stuff was still there. And it's looking even better now. He's got a good FB, a great curve and a pretty damn good change. He really wasn't using his curve effectively as an out pitch earlier in the season too. He was being beat on the fastball and not keeping people off balance with the curve.
  6. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:30 PM) So there is no reason not to have Scotty as our leadoff guy next year, right? Someone may offer him so much money that we'll wind up taking the draft pick.
  7. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:12 PM) When Thome sits lets DH Pods. To Get Wise's bat in ther?
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 06:09 PM) Without Thome playing, wouldn't it have made a ton of sense to DH Quentin, put Pods in LF, and put BA in center? I mean, BA hits lefties well. BA hasn't hit anyone really well this season.
  9. Well, thankfully we sent down our best defensive CF today. Anyway, I'm not bothering with this...
  10. I'm feeling the Cubs reeling for a bit after tonight's game. We'll see.
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 05:59 PM) oooh... Good call. How about Matt Kemp? Hanley Ramirez, although the D isn't spectactular. Jose Reyes Granderson and Sizemore when they're on Jared Mitchell and Jordan Danks
  12. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 05:56 PM) His brother. Carl Crawford
  13. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 05:55 PM) The guy batting .246 with a .711 OPS? To start off the season he was recovering from shoulder surgery and that hurt him for a while. He had a great june, and he's having a bad July.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 05:41 PM) Has a reporter ever asked Ozzie in a postgame interview why he dislikes Anderson? Usually he denies it and then goes on a rant about how he makes the lineups or something like that.
  15. That's why you don't be too aggressive at 3rd base with JD coming up.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 05:05 PM) Not true, we raced Russia to space and lost.... the race to the moon was completely made up by our government. It wasn't really a race to space starting off though...the U.S. was doing its thing, and then was suddenly blindsided when the Russians did things. A lot of it came out of building missiles anyway.
  17. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 04:36 PM) Whats the status of Peavy's injury anyway? Foot just came out of the boot. Hasn't done anything since it was injured. Everything goes well and maybe he pitches again in August.
