  1. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 5, 2009 -> 04:06 PM) Especially Tejada whom I assume they have not seen and therefore are unable to touch. Alexei Ramirez with the RBI single.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2009 -> 04:03 PM) So what happened with Gavin? Were they hitting him hard? Mike Jacobs...yes, 450 feet or so. The other 2 hits, off the end of the bat up the middle by Teahen, and a broken bat by Guillen.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 5, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) How does one end up with a lower OBP than AVG? Nix had that going last night. A sacrifice will count as a plate appearance but not an at bat. If you have few walks but a sacrifice or two it can happen.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2009 -> 03:11 PM) Good to see Josh! When going over any potential 3 year plan for the White Sox, our organization would be in such a better position if Fields can be a suitable starting 3rd baseman. Then, you don't even have to consider moving Beckham to a position where his power is negated. The Cuban tank?
  5. 7 pitch first inning for Gavin. The Royals clearly don't want him to get ahead of them.

  7. Bah. 20 pitches in the first for Davies.
  8. 2 out walk to Thome. 2 runners on for JD. Make him pay JD.
  9. Posada to the 15 day DL with a hamstring strian.
  10. Senator Specter, responding to a question on the now lack of Republican Jews in the Senate. Toss aside for a moment the fact that the best Norm Coleman could possibly hope for is a complete throw-out of the election, or at least a significant recount order which probably wouldn't benefit him anyway, and thus no judge could possibly find grounds to declare him the winner...typically, if you're a Democrat, you're supposed to at least say things about how you'd support the Democrat in most races.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2009 -> 12:40 PM) Question for the general populace... How would a typical Chamber of Commerce be chartered? Would it be as a 501 ©3? Just grabbing from the Wikipedias:
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2009 -> 01:14 PM) Two coaches, and counting, now disagree. When one of those coaches is VDN and another of those coaches is Jim Boylan and the third coach resigned after the team totally quit on him...you're not making a strong case.
  13. QUOTE (qwerty @ May 5, 2009 -> 01:19 PM) He is signed through 2010, actually. Odds are though that the Sox could keep him on 1 year, arbitration-style deals if they wanted to after that point
  14. An argument I found interesting even if I'm not sure I totally agree with it...reasons for Keeping Kirk over Gordon.
  15. This is just going to be a cool sentence to write: Houston and Washington are on a rain delay in the 11th inning tied at 10 runs apiece. And that game...was suspended.
  16. QUOTE (WCSox @ May 5, 2009 -> 11:00 AM) it's not surprising that Kenny didn't get a Chris Young-type player in return. Chris Young is hitting .174 with a .569 OPS this season. Brent Lillibridge is hitting .167 with a .494 OPS this season (Young has 2x the at bats). Lillibridge has 8 walks, Young has 6. The difference in OPS comes almost entirely from Young's 2 home runs. Young is 2/4 on steals, Lillibridge is 3/3. What do you mean Kenny didn't get a Chris Young-type player in return? Are you talking about the Padres pitcher?
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 5, 2009 -> 11:00 AM) There isnt a strong enough player in the league to be able to copy Frank's one armed swing. I dunno...depends on what ARod's taking these days.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) well said. not to mention that this 3rd option would get released. That was fairly unsurprising in hindsight. I was wrong on him because I was hoping for the best, he got his chance and couldn't do jack with it.
  19. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 5, 2009 -> 03:31 AM) CF though... KW should have predicted his 2 top CF options would both suffer completely random injuries in the first month of the season.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2009 -> 10:14 AM) Which is exactly how the party of inclusion has done business for decades, and continues to do it to this day. Its not a coincidence that they are already targeting their own members who are too moderate and conservative to be run against in their primary elections. Thankfully of course, the Republican party is a significant upgrade
