  1. Look, Dusty is going to defend his players and try to keep them out of the way of this, that’s literally his job.
  2. Lynn could throw 100 pitches tomorrow if they need it. He’s on normal rest.
  3. Eric Clapton doesn’t like Dusty Baker though, I can guarantee that.
  4. Boston was definitely using full signs the entire game starting with the Wild Card game in New York. I haven’t seen enough of their series to know if Tampa Bay is doing so. The year the Nats won in Houston, they had multiple codes and were switching them up repeatedly during the game, always assuming that there was a camera on them. Are the White Sox? If they’re thinking about this at all, then they should be using fully coded signs every pitch. At the very least for their own mindset, to make them feel secure.
  5. If you think Urquidy and Valdez are pretty close to each other in quality, pitch Urquidy tomorrow and save McCullers for a game 5. If you think Framber is significantly better, then you want McCullers and Valdez to each get starts on normal rest.
  6. That’s the one that said he was present, no other posts said so.
  7. They will be fine tomorrow. Kopech is the one who had an extended outing.
  8. Here's a big Q for you - do the White Sox start Lynn tomorrow?
  9. He's definitely available, but if you push him for multiple innings today, he would be iffy in game 5 after being used in games 2, 3, and 4, with a long outing in game 4. He'd certainly warm up and take the ball if asked in game 5...but you worry about the long ball happening.
  10. He has pitched 14 times in back to back outings and gave up 8 runs in 12.1 innings for a 5.84 ERA in that situation. He should not be a primary option.
  11. Those guys shouldn’t go…unless it goes extras. If Rodon is out early, it should be Lynn to get as many as we can get from him. Crochet, Kimbrel, and Hendriks is enough to cover at least 3 in some order. If it goes longer than 9, Ruiz, Lopez, and the guys who worked yesterday give you everything they have left. If Lynn can’t go, then Lopez fills that role as well as he can.
  12. Was Grandal doing a full sequence of signs on every pitch in Houston?
  13. No, he’s not a good matchup against them in Houston, for whatever reason. He is fine against them when they have a different ballpark, for whatever reason. ERA closing on 6 in Houston, ERA against Houston elsewhere in the low 3’s. Maybe the backdrop in Houston, maybe they’re cheating, maybe it’s mental for him, who cares it’s a multi year trend. He was literally why I was saying we should sell out more for home field advantage back in August - if game 5 was in Chicago he might throw a shutout.
  14. I literally wrote in this thread that he was going to do it even before Baker made one of the worst moves I’ve ever seen.
  15. Absolutely. Does the full file download if you right click on it and save as? The full version was a couple mb and I assumed the page would compress it. If not I will put the full version in tomorrows game thread.
  16. That was so obviously what Leury does I’m not sure how everyone on Earth didn’t see it coming. He screws up fairly often, but isn’t so bad you can’t play him. He goes through bad stretches, but he’s always swinging for the fences, so if he gets the right matchup and right pitch, boom, game changing home run. We have seen it a few times this season. Then Baker gives him a fastball pitcher who is already down 2-0 in the count. It was going to be hard for Leury not to do that. I still can’t believe he did that.
  17. Dusty Baker made one of the worst moves I’ve seen in a baseball game.
  18. Call to Eloy last inning was worse. Games over. See you tomorrow.
