QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 05:54 AM) And that has grated on his players wherever he's gone. I just get the sense, you'd have another Skiles situation, 2-3 years from now if you hired him. After the debacle that has been this season, I don't know if it would take 2-3 years. I think these guys seem like they're ready for something different. IF RC was willing to adapt his style to the way the game has changed in the last couple years, that'd be livable. But the question is...is he a good coach because he adapts to his players, or is he a good coach because he kept getting put in places where the players were the kind that worked with him the best while he was there. If the answer is the former, then he might work for this system. If the answer is the latter, then he's not going to be any better than Boylan. So far, based on the implosion of guys under him in Indy, It'd take some serious convincing for me to think it's the former and not the latter.

QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 05:52 AM) Bulls should go for Thibodeau IMHO. It's been him and not Doc Rivers who's had the most impact on that group in Boston. Bulls would become an elite defensive team with him in charge. I certainly would be a fan of Thibodeau defensively, I would like to know what he would do about offense though if I was in Pax's chair. I certainly like the idea of fresh blood instead of a retread.

QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 07:53 AM) Juan just seemed like he was pressing. Glad to see Ramirez get a chance. I think this development is related to Richar coming back up soon. In all honesty, unless they don't give him a rehab stint (which would be silly) Richar is probably still a month away. I think this is probably related in that they want to give Alexei some more at bats before they have to worry about making any changes with him, and basically, they're looking at the way Uribe is hitting and saying "even if Alexei stinks, he's not going to cost us very much".

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 09:52 AM) I have a question about the Cell. I can't find a detailed (row-by-row) seating chart for the Cell. My friend was offered 4 tickets for Section 146 Row AA. Where's that row at? I would assume it's 27 rows up from the bottom of that section.

And now, I think we can say with some confidence that Gregory Pratt = Nick Markakis. Because when Gavin gets tired enough, and the defense lets him down, it takes that level of hitter to be able to touch Gavin where he's pitching right now.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 06:49 AM) If we saw MacDougal come in during a 1-run ballgame Soxtalk would explode, even knowing we're overusing Linebrink/Dotel/Jenks. If we saw Marte in a close game in the ALCS and lived, we'll live through that. Even with the results.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 08:21 AM) is it normal for it to happen 5 hours later though? Aftershocks of some size are normal for days to weeks after an event. The larger the event, the longer it takes to return to a normal background seismicity rate.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 06:25 PM) The guests tonight on the Colbert Report: Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Not simultaneously, but he scored em both! I believe I'm also reading that Edwards showed up.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) Even if its 75 percent, its his best pitch, his out pitch. Do you think Pad's fans are wondering why Hoffman throws his change so much in 0-2 counts? It makes me mad that even a few of the people on here are putting it on pitch selection and Bobby. The defense failed, our bullpen FINALLY cracked and it is what it is. We will go out and win the the next series. I am mad that they lost a game they should have won, but frankly, the fact that our 5th starter appear so dominant makes me giddy. If Floyd pitches like that all season, we will win probably 95 percent of those games. I don't think we're going to be thinking of Gavin as our 5th starter much longer.

QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 05:59 PM) Floyd out after 81 pitches, Thornton in for 1 batter, and Dotel in 2 outs. Floyd seemed to a lot of people to be gassed after his outing regardless of his pitch count. You can quarrel with the use of Thornton for 1 batter, but Dotel really shouldn't ever be used for more than 1 inning. -

I'm actually surprised Ozzie had such a quick leash on Thornton -

Well, if Floyd's as gassed as y'all are saying, Ozzie's making the right move there. -

QUOTE (heirdog @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) Floyd with only 81 pitches so hopefully he's back out for the 7th to get the W. He'd get the win even if he was replaced if we win the game & they don't come back to tie it. I might still send him out for the 7th just on pitch count, but if he's as gassed as others are saying -
